sherri from Little Rock, Arkansas, United StatesHe certainly was...great motion blur. 13 Oct 2008 5:34am Linerberry from Sumner, Christchurch, New ZealandGreat motion shot:-) love the composition! 13 Oct 2008 6:25am dan from Paris, FranceGraph and perfectly contrasted with a shadow which makes live the image. 13 Oct 2008 6:49am Elaine- from Canadahaha, going downhill fast.. i love this shot, what if i PAID you for a couple photoshop tutorials on how to be just like you? :) 13 Oct 2008 10:31am @Elaine-: Thanks Elaine! You know, for what little I know about photoshop, you'd learn more in a book. I used it to convert to greyscale and then a bit or burning. The blur is from the slow shutter speed. Actually, I would love to take a course or 3 to learn photoshop! Phototherapy from SwitzerlandGreat movement, the moment is stopped in the stairs Great street one! SwissCharles 13 Oct 2008 11:38am Laurie from New Jersey, United StatesAwesome. I love the ghostly blur of the man. 13 Oct 2008 12:08pm Ronnie 2¢ from London, United Kingdomhee hee . . I've just been commenting elsewhere on the wonders of 1/8th second ! We should all be doing more of this . . great effect of flow . . 13 Oct 2008 1:39pm @Ronnie 2¢: Thanks Ronnie! I am a huge fan of blur...can you tell? I love the 1/8th second setting, and even slower in some cases :) gbe from kansas city, United Statesthat black blur among the whites and light grays works great. 13 Oct 2008 2:24pm dobbino from Cape Town, South AfricaYour comments to Elaine just confirm that you have a magical talent. Being able to produce the shots you do without any PS help puts you in the category of the old masters (hey - the "old" refers to the masters only!). This photo is so alive - I can actually see the guy skipping down the steps. 13 Oct 2008 6:09pm @dobbino: Ah thank you! You are too kind and I wish I resembled that remark. I do use it, I also use Lightroom, but know even less about it than I do photoshop. For most of my stuff I try to enhance with dodging and burning. I don't know any fancy photoshop tricks, but I do enjoy it very much for bringing out what I see when I shoot, especially if the lighting conditions make things flat. Cheers to you! ordinaryimages from Kentucky Bluegrass, United Stateswhile i teach photoshop and have advanced photoshop editing skills, i use Lightroom on my own work—preferring as you do—to work it out in the camera. that's the fun and challenge of photography. best...jerry 13 Oct 2008 7:31pm @ordinaryimages: Thanks Jerry! Well...you do? Where do I sign up? dj.tigersprout from San Bruno, CA, United Statesa beautiful and captivating downward motion here BC! just faaabulous and brings one of your earliest shots that i saw to mind! excellent pov and height! all your amazing and wonderfully creative work bring to mind the vast and ephemeral spiritual world that we 'live' in and amongst -- though it seems that most people are unaware of this dimension of reality. but that suits me just fine -- it is heartening to see it represented so richly in your work, day after day!!! another faaabulous piece form you, thank you and bravo!! :D 13 Oct 2008 11:46pm Michael Paulison from United StatesA man made of black smoke.
