EYES WIDE SHUT from A corner of Utopia, United KingdomThis is a beautiful and thoughtful observation. My mind instantly pondered upon the silhouette being the statue and the snowperson having journeyed miles to this location, sitting down and admiring the sculptor's handywork...... as opposed to the other way around. As always, a real gem, BlueChameleon 23 Dec 2008 5:04am 613photo from Dallas, United StatesThat snowman's pretty cool. He deserves a spot in the National Gallery. I like the contrast between the two figures. 23 Dec 2008 5:08am john4jack from Corvallis, United StatesOutstanding. The composition is extraordinary; just the right amount of space between the snowman and the woman. 23 Dec 2008 5:40am Linerberry from Sumner, Christchurch, New ZealandGreat image with a lovely sentiment:-) 23 Dec 2008 6:24am Elaine- from Canadalol there's something amusing about this picture, even though it has it's dark side... i love it sister!! 23 Dec 2008 6:36am Ivar from Indianapolis, United StatesGreat image, whos watching over who? Although the snowman seems to have been exposed to too much sun he still stands refusing to go away quietly ;) Cool shot and proicessing. 23 Dec 2008 6:45am zahai from Berlin, GermanyWonderful capture. Love the light and composition. It manages to transmit, despite the motive, a slightly uneasy mood. Awesome work :) 23 Dec 2008 8:19am k@ from Paris, FranceThis is a very surprising and original shot ! A mood of Eastern countries comes out of it (well, for me) or silent movie... The game between black & white (within the characters too) is very powerful ! 23 Dec 2008 8:31am Alivia from ST-Etienne, Francesculpture de neige et silhouette, une composition qui met en paralleèle la légende et l'homme, belle composition. 23 Dec 2008 8:46am Emmanuelle from Sg, SingaporeWhat a cool snowman! That would be my way to communicate with the higher power :-) Great capture! 23 Dec 2008 5:06pm Michael Rawluk from Williams Lake, BC, CanadaIt is too cold for snow people around here. Have a Merry Christmas. 23 Dec 2008 5:13pm Pixim from Nice, FranceI enormously love this snowman, so abstract, with a so solid base and this stick of so significant magician. The man is there to celebrate it, secular tradition which you show by your point of view and this "vigneting" B&W. Bravo Sharon, and I wish you a merry Christmas and yours ;) 23 Dec 2008 5:47pm Pradeep from Chennai, IndiaThis is an awesome find, very abstract snowman, the symbolism is totally cool ;) 23 Dec 2008 6:29pm Liang from San Francisco, United StatesBeautiful silhouette staring at the snowman! =Dn 23 Dec 2008 8:03pm Wolfgang - vu@granby from Granby, Québec, CanadaNow we have to decide who is whatching over whom..... 23 Dec 2008 8:22pm António Pires from Lisbon, PortugalThis image reminds me the films by Ingmar Bergman. 23 Dec 2008 9:14pm Steve Rice from Olympia, United StatesA snow god or goddess to protect us. It was -13C that day and this little guy was sitting on a fence post, and probably only 2 feet high at the most. I've been finding little snowmen all over the city, on fence posts, mailboxes, newspaper boxes and other odd things. It's been fun and trippy. We are in for it again tonight, as a huge snow fall is predicted. This may bring larger snowmen... ;-) dj.tigersprout from San Bruno, CA, United Statesoh dear!!! -13?? you might as well be up in the Alaskan Arctic Circle!!! :P well, i hope if it is going to be that cold, that you at least get more of the wonderful white stuff!!! maybe a little 'snow-in' might be nice... they could cancel school and work and allow everyone to frolic in the streets and make bigger snowmen and snow-women!!! ;) happy holidays!!! 24 Dec 2008 7:23pm |
