Nataly from Santa Monica, United StatesLooking at this image makes me miss New York. The China Town is a very special place, almost from a different planet and not on our world map. Amazing and surreal... 15 Feb 2009 5:12am Marcah from United Statesaah the stories he could tell. Wonderful capture of emotion. Apart from the clothes, there's a giveaway somewhere in the photo that lets me know it's been taken in America but I can't quite put my finger on it. I think maybe it's the brickwork on the left hand side. 15 Feb 2009 7:34am EYES WIDE SHUT from The library of my soul, United KingdomA characterful face, with wise words and a wealth of knowledge, no doubt, for those who are willing to take the time to listen. A very fine, candid portrait Sharon 15 Feb 2009 8:37am k@ from Paris, FranceLove that portrait especially, beyond the expression, because of how his fingers talk, discreetly but surely going toward you/us... A secret sign to you when his eyes pretend not noticing you... 15 Feb 2009 8:59am Alessandro from Calci (PI), ItalyLook, why don't you put a button on the webpage saying "Thank me for another ultra-cool shot!". It would save me a lot of time! ;) 15 Feb 2009 9:32am zOOm from Paris, FranceNice portrait Sharon, there's a lot of dignity in his face... and his glare... seems so sharp... you know what I mean ? ... 15 Feb 2009 9:41am Jean-François from Les Issambres, Francetrès forte photo ! ........................................................... 15 Feb 2009 9:45am Observing from West Cheshire, United KingdomAmazing image of this street person. He seems so old, so tired.. so alone. There on the street, in the cold. 15 Feb 2009 3:30pm dogilicious from Millerstown, PA, United StatesVery nice b/w. Couldn't be a truer proverb. 15 Feb 2009 4:52pm Steve Rice from Olympia, United StatesAn absolutely beautiful portrait of this man. The tones throughout are gorgeous. 15 Feb 2009 5:12pm Ti from Alpharetta, United StatesIt always makes me sad to see my own people's pictures taken by none of our own, especially old people's. It almost feels like seeing a homeless being reported on the news. All people made it to the shots almost always have beaten hardship from life carved into their faces, a powerful evident from struggling from daily hard work! Why did they come here at the first place? To seek for a better life? Is it better now...? Vancouver (VanHong, some of us jokingly call it, because of so many Hong Kong immigrants), a beautiful city where I have few friends moved there from Taiwan, time has changed and you don't see that kind of scars left by survival on their faces any more.... 15 Feb 2009 5:12pm Paco Díaz from Palma de Mallorca, SpainIt's a portrait that makes us think about the life of this person, I suppose that not easy and without hope. Surviving puts the signals in the face and expression. Good street shot. 15 Feb 2009 8:08pm Virgil from Richmond, United StatesNice portrait........this one makes me wonder what kind of life this person leads. 15 Feb 2009 8:56pm Kristian from Slagelse, DenmarkYour street work amazes me every day. This one is no exception. Love the expressions you capture. 15 Feb 2009 10:17pm Ronnie 2¢ from London, United KingdomPowerful image like it emerges from another world . . but it is not another world, it is this one. 15 Feb 2009 10:45pm Ivar from Indianapolis, United StatesExcellent street shot, nice presentation in B&W. There are so many characters I would love to sit and listen to... this looks like one of them. 15 Feb 2009 11:24pm Brian from Seattle, United StatesVery nice shot, love the expression captured here. 16 Feb 2009 12:17am Ron from Saint Louis, United StatesPoignant and touching ... the words fit this so well ... ron 16 Feb 2009 12:27am Craig from Vacaville, California, United StatesA fine portrait documenting how we slow. 16 Feb 2009 12:58am JJ from Jersey City, United Stateswhat a superb street shot, the face looks like it has seen so many things in his life, I am sure so many stories this person could tell 16 Feb 2009 2:49am hugo poon from hong kong, Hong KongAbout that view of the lined weather-beaten face and unfocused eyes, there was the faint suggestion of the good and hard days he's been through and that he (despite being uncertain) had no illusions concerning the future of his "profession"; yet without doubt, he'd remain a "trier", from one year's end to another... Thanks for the touching image, Sharon. 16 Feb 2009 2:55am 613photo from Dallas, United StatesMmmm...white glutenous rice flour. Tasty. Love the shot and how he's looking across his body and away from the camera. 16 Feb 2009 3:16am Matt Sutton from Sydney, AustraliaSharon. This really speaks to me. The hands, one on top of the other. The facial expression. Well done 16 Feb 2009 4:07am Diane Schuller from Hythe, Canadaterrific portrait. Gosh, I want to reach out or help in some way. This poor soul. 16 Feb 2009 5:01am Sien from Valkenswaard, NetherlandsWonderful street scene Grz Sien 16 Feb 2009 9:49am |
