sherri from Little Rock, Arkansas, United StatesSuch a large railroad yard and you found an excellent vantage point. 20 Mar 2009 5:21am Shutterbug from Chennai, Indiahey, good perspective. I'm wondering if you will consider the old-film grain effect? i have a feeling it will enhance the depth/value of this image! 20 Mar 2009 5:41am @Shutterbug: Hmmm...I see your point. Do you have a specific method in mind or are you just speaking generally? Thank you :) Matt Sutton from Sydney, Australiawell compressed to contain so much. pleasing lines. solitary man 20 Mar 2009 6:08am Jean-François from Les Issambres, Franceimpressionnant ! quelle image tu nous donnes là ............... à en avoir le vertige de la vie ! Excellent shot. 20 Mar 2009 6:50am Krims@nline.be from Wemmel, BelgiumWonderfull, love the angle, the composition and the title is really up to the point. Well done! 20 Mar 2009 6:53am k@ from Paris, FranceAs you guess (with my Metropolitanesques serie) i just love that shot, its frame, your B&W, the great set and the man lost within it - thanks for this vision of yours* 20 Mar 2009 7:11am Robert Kruh from SloveniaBeautiful composition of the man in center of photograph! Great work! 20 Mar 2009 7:29am Angel from Madrid, SpainThe lines diagonals that form the channels and the wagons are a wonder. The isolated man gives character to the image. “The man in front of the machine”. Very conceptual Greetings 20 Mar 2009 7:56am P J W Miller from Chase Terrace, United KingdomSo much going on here, very interesting, the diagonal lines give it almost a 3 d effect 20 Mar 2009 8:47am Evelyne Dubos from Le Mans, FranceWhat a great great composition !! The diagonals of rails, freiht trains at the top of the image and this man alone in this industral environment, just in the middle... and a strong B&W... very powerful shot. Love that. 20 Mar 2009 9:53am kiji from valenciennes City of Lights, FranceBeaitful B&W compo. Great high perspective. 20 Mar 2009 12:05pm dogilicious from Millerstown, PA, United StatesI am preferring lost over "suicide." Excellent work. 20 Mar 2009 1:01pm john4jack from Corvallis, United StatesSuperb composition! Marvelous contrast. On the quote, I don't believe that anyone else can make us complete; we have to that ourselves; and then we share our wholeness with another. We definitely need community and community provides the support and love we need to enable us to become complete. 20 Mar 2009 2:09pm Sumedh Prasad from New Delhi, IndiaThat is a wonderful photograph! So naturally, if an oak tries to be like the pine and the pine tries to be like the vine and the vine tries to be like the marigolds and the marigolds try to be like the roses, they would all give up and die. Just like our own society, where instead of bringing out the unique beauty in every individual, everyone tries to fulfill an imaginary emptiness. 20 Mar 2009 2:23pm Ilan from IsraelI love industrial shots like that. Always make me feel small (well, that guy there is a great ratio teller :)) 20 Mar 2009 2:43pm Ronnie 2¢ from London, United KingdomOne of those shots that looks like it has a tale or two to tell . . although perhaps not the best place to find a sou- mate . . but, who knows ? 20 Mar 2009 3:02pm Ajay from Pune, IndiaA visibly great composition and a very self-examining quote. 20 Mar 2009 3:10pm Craig@Random Ramblings from Herts, United KingdomI really like this and it has great tones. I am becoming convinced however that you carry a lone figure around with you just to put in the scene ;O) Great work as always! 20 Mar 2009 3:17pm Angelique from NetherlandsLove the story that's going on here. 20 Mar 2009 3:25pm Nataly from Santa Monica, United StatesHow did you spot this one person there? Did you spent all day just waiting for all to clear and then this one guy just walks through? Amazing find! I like the variety of textures here very much. 20 Mar 2009 4:19pm Anthony Lambert from Bielefeld, GermanyA great place to go hunting for shots, although a bit dangerous !! I love all the lines made by the tracks and the goods trains really stand out in B+W. 20 Mar 2009 4:22pm peter from new york, United Statesthe composition is excellent and the supporting quote compliments this perfectly. excellent work! 20 Mar 2009 4:25pm Eugene Nikiforov from Northport, United Statesgreat composition, glad you kept it in B&W 20 Mar 2009 6:45pm Alivia from Saint-Etienne, FranceSought all his life .. but sometimes you find these tracks .. and these ways cross, seems uncertainty paths.. shuntings are those we did not take .. but in a railway station .. can put his bag of grief and find happiness in the next .. your photo is so evocative, your strong contrasts show the harshness of life path... 20 Mar 2009 7:16pm António Pires from Lisbon, PortugalWhat a sense of movement. Superb composition. 20 Mar 2009 7:27pm Hema Iyer from Bangalore, IndiaSuperb shot. Love the angle and the comsposition. 20 Mar 2009 7:34pm Andy from United StatesLove all the lines from the tracks. It seeks what ... it is the only one to know The lines are superb and the b/w always perfect. 20 Mar 2009 9:50pm Twelvebit from Victoria, United StatesIt's the man in the middle that makes the shot. 20 Mar 2009 10:04pm Suzanne from Huntington Bch, California, United StatesTerrific image. I love the light quality and the composition. 20 Mar 2009 10:35pm Mike Paulison from United StatesLove trains and especially a trainyard. Wish I could find one. I really like the look of the small person aside the massive trains. The lines of all those tracks cutting diagonally across the frame is very nice. A bit of a sniper feel. I think we should see the shot following this one to make sure. 21 Mar 2009 1:11am Tripodhead from Norwell, United StatesThe quote makes this lone moving image even more moving. That's our relationship with the modern world in a nutshell. The one we have created for ourselves overwhelms us. Used to be it was nature that did that. I like that he's such a small part of the photo but it's exactly where the eye goes. Excellent work as usual. 21 Mar 2009 10:58pm Susan from United StatesLove the symmetry of the tracks and the way the man is completely isolated and centered. Perfect quote. Excellent. 22 Mar 2009 2:43pm Katie from Toronto, CanadaMy images are unique?? Wow Look at your work! This is amazing! I can never pull off a great b/w image.
