Us, by the way, can take this place with our eyes. 21 Mar 2009 8:36am @k@: Thank you K....and to you too, a wonderful weekend * Craig@Random Ramblings from Herts, United KingdomIndeed, I often wonder the thoughts and emotions of the people I capture in a frame, it's a constant mystery and that's what I like about shots like this. Well spotted! 21 Mar 2009 8:56am Pere Chuliá from SpainMuy buena composición y procesado. Al más puro estilo de los grandes clásicos norteamericanos. 21 Mar 2009 9:19am zOOm from Paris, FranceResignation ? Disapointment ? Excellente composition! Une image très touchante! Bravo! 21 Mar 2009 11:15am Philip from Joburg, South AfricaExcellent portrait I bet this man has a lot of stories to tell :) 21 Mar 2009 11:42am EYES WIDE SHUT from The library of my soul, United KingdomI love that quote. We men are often very misunderstood. When we show our feminine and emotional sides, we are often lambasted by our peers, when we are forceful we are branded typically aggressive. We seldom are given the opportunity to talk about the issues in life which afflict us, because it's not how we are supposed to be, according to centuries of wisdom. But we are, and can be just as enlightened, emotionally charged, hormonally affected, caring, sad, poetic and wise as any woman, if we are just given the chance to let the inner boy out from our hearts and souls, and if the preconceptions of what a man should be are replaced by those which allow him to be what he could be, or already is. A fabulous photograph, Sharon. And thank you for allowing us men a moment of poetic value 21 Mar 2009 11:45am @EYES WIDE SHUT: I agree...some are to quick to judge and come to their own conclusions. We are all just people after all, men, women, whatever...labels belong on soup cans. Thank you Paul. Laura from Birmingham, United KingdomBeautiful shot, and I like the verge constricting the view. Really nice composition 21 Mar 2009 12:27pm john4jack from Corvallis, United StatesMarvelous capture, Sharon! The line from Longfellow is so poignant, and so true. How often we make assumptions and don't even show the consideration of asking. (My son says that to "assume" is to make an "ass" of "u" and "me".) 21 Mar 2009 12:42pm Alivia from Saint-Etienne, Francethis man is set against the sky, alone on the edge of the bench, it seems huddled on the right. Sadness and loneliness are reinforced by the B & W powerful. Everyone can feel the emptiness and tears or feel the weight of sadness in itself. Solitude is sad and lonely, that is the problem. 21 Mar 2009 12:42pm Andrew Gould from Sydney, AustraliaComposition, pose and the tonal treatment of the subject's face are everything here. Wonderful interpretation. 21 Mar 2009 12:54pm Ajay from Pune, IndiaWhat a beautiful shot and more than anything, what a thought provoking quote.
