Awesome. Great sense of opportunity to shoot... Mystical and mysterious. The texture in the back makes an excellent contrast. How many stories can be told or invented about this?

Truly a beautiful moment captured forevermore! The texture and tones make this a brilliant image. It speaks to my heart as I prepare to visit a gravely ill member of my congregation one last time ... she's very much at peace with her "flight home." Thanks ...

@Observing: Thank you :)
Well, the story is, it was a very cold day and I stood against a building to get out of the wind. As I stood there I watched the pigeons fly back and forth between two buildings on either side of the street. At each fly more and more would line up. Basically, I waited for this shot and it happened. Because of the dull sky, I was never completely happy with the way it looked, so I never did anything with it. Even months later after adding the texture, I still sat on this for several more months. Perhaps a fresh pair of eyes helped, and I decided to upload it here :)
Nicely composed; wonderful silhouettes and processing.

Great shot. Great title. I think you nailed it.
3 Dec 2008 2:09am
So well done! The processing and the picture are perfect. My bird image goes up tomorrow and is a bit "out of this world." This one certainly deserves a large canvas in a museum somewhere!
3 Dec 2008 2:42am

This one is top, by your technique, by your way of making and by the story which she tells. Often the risks are taken in a solitary way ;)
