Oh wow! A scene from a film, the opening section with titles over and music playing. The camera moves in, panning from a distance over the snow covered landscape. Gradually we pick out a lone person walking purposefully, as the camera moves in.....
What a wonderful photograph, Sharon. A dreamlike quality in processing and presentation and beautiful contrast of green foliage and stark snow covered trees

Does look like a scene from a film. I am the eyes of a werewolf ":o) Excellent tones in your b&w story.

@Laurie: thanks Laurie. Yes, in shorts and I thought he must be nuts because it very cold!

A quiet scene with the lone passerby. The light is so beautiful on the snow.

A superb, dreamlike image...what more can I say but that I love it.

The wonders of the soft magical forest. A storybook image, Sharon.

Doing haïkus with one single picture is great art you invent here ! The thin silhouette crossing that beautiful set is such a magic gift !

Bare limbs,
trees and flesh,
one shivers the other asleep.
Very inspirational scene.

Nice shot. I like the muted color and static nature of the composition. I keep seeing all this snow in photoblogs. It does snow in Texas, but everytime it does it seems like I'm out of town. Haven't seen any for a long time.

Au loin, cette silhouette presque fantôme donne à cette photo des airs de mystérieux mirage ...

Pretty image. The lateral trees fit the photography perfectly. The smoothness of the image provides a romantic character to him.
Greetings

Quel courageux joggeur ! Très belle scène !
9 Jan 2009 8:53am
Wonderful scenery and mood. The bare limbs of the jogger are probably shivering in the wind as well ;)
9 Jan 2009 9:38am
It's cool to see the runner in the background with that sea of snow
9 Jan 2009 9:57am
Wonderful and you controlled the light very well.
9 Jan 2009 10:52am
what a nice little poem :) love the shot, the woman walking between the two trees, the hint of blue in the snow, love love
9 Jan 2009 10:55am
I love haikus and I always thought that some pictures were haikus to them only ! You succeeded both !
9 Jan 2009 12:40pm
It’s too cold for shorts, wow! The dedication of a runner is honorable, sacrificing warmth for health. Much like the photographer that took this photo in the cold :) Great scene.

How do you balance these very great and moody BWs with equally moody quotes and verses. I hope you are planning to compile these into a book.
9 Jan 2009 1:44pm
beautiful and very poetic this person passing by far away
9 Jan 2009 4:00pm
just the right amount of tone. best...jerry

Another wonderful emotive dreamlike image... the drama and mood so heightened by the "runner in shorts"! Definitely one of my favs of the day!
9 Jan 2009 6:28pm
lovely haiku poem, goes along with the image very well.
9 Jan 2009 7:02pm
and those seemingly frail bare legs seem a perfect compliment. wonderful.
9 Jan 2009 8:23pm
The last fool isn´t born yet, running in shorts. What is he thinking. Great shot, I like the misty feeling.
9 Jan 2009 10:36pm
The runner is either far braver or far stupider ( and thats hard) than I am to be out in this cold
Wonderful capture
10 Jan 2009 1:52am
Those bare legs make me cold! Excellent processing (as always)!
10 Jan 2009 3:30am
It seems ready for a scene from a movie !
Very good light and a great contrast !
10 Jan 2009 3:54am
The slight diffuse glow just adds dimension to the atmosphere of this image... Excellent!
PS. Thanks so much for that link, Sharon... I've been inspired with the textures I've found ;-)
