"I’ve travelled all this way
for your embrace
Enraptured by the recognition
on your face
Hold me now
while my old life dies tonight
And I surrender"

Wonderful mood you create. The winter looks to be here a long time.

Oh my, 'I surrender' by David Sylvian. Ten minutes of sheer Utopia from a voice I've loved since the seventies. That wil played full volume on my sound system as soon as a decent hour comes that won't upset the neighbours ha ha
What a photograph, Sharon. It's exactly this kind of scene that stays in my heart and mind through this journey of life, from my childhood in the countryside. I still have a similar picture in my head of our front gates and the deluge of snow each year that seemed so picture perfect to young eyes.
Absolutely beautiful in observation and presentation

It give a very nostalgic feeling of our childhood home, the only place where I saw snow. Since then, only in photographs and movies.

How beautiful to get to this fence and think...ahhh I'm home out of the cold! Great image!

I can feel myself slowly coming home, carefully going ahead, not recognizing my own path, everything changed just because of that coat of white thick snow... Love the light on the fence...

:o)... I needed to see this today, although it is of snow and ice, it is beautifully warming and inviting BC as only you know how to do. The words are very moving. Bravo my friend!

That diffuse light and the fence, equip to the image of a very pleasant romantic touch.

Stunning. I love how the softness of the snow blends the contrasts of the image.

Lovely light in this. Looks a slippery route though. I went flat on my back yesterday on black ice in the middle of a country lane.

Lovely dreamy shot, and perfect to mix with the words of David Sylvian

Very adequate: the path, the stairs, the fence, the snow. The light is wonderful.

MMM this is dreamy, like whip cream on top of ice cream, looks delicious lol

Inviting picture. Well seen and composed with that lovely light and a fine perspective.

This is a very interesting shot. The picket fence and softness of the photo make it warm and inviting, but the atmosphere with the snow and the water are just the opposite. Dig it.

Hm... Stairs, fence, rocks covered with snow... And one would think "anyone sees something like this daily".... And how in a gods name do you manage to make it breath and talk???? The image is moaning "Surrender"! I wouldn`t think of better words to describe the emotion here. Well, I wouldn`t even think of photographing this place, I would walk by as I do every day... And your post work is fantastic to compliment the idea. Bravo!

your picture evoked nostalgia... Thank you.

A lot of snow..nous sommes loin, mais les hiver se ressemblent..la lumière joue sur la barrière et la neige, les ombres augmentent les contrastes..j'aime cette photo.

Hope can keep us alive, no matter what.
I love the frozen atmosphere mingled with the truth of human hope.
Great job Sharon :)

Just taking a moment in the air, to breath before climbing the steps up to the warmth...

Its interesting to read what people see in this poicture, most seems to see it positively or "warm". I on the other hand see a darker mood, abandoned, lonely... Now this may be colored by what I am doing as well (playing a rather grim video game), and looking at it again, I can see both moods in this (as 613), so it is a very nicely taken picture!

Don't know that I could explain why, but this is my favorite among your most recent images.

You are one great photographer! All combined with great creativity and humanity. I know I've said many times (I think) but never mind repeat ... You are a role model for me! Your pictures are all an incredible strength. So it is with your words! I ask you not leave us! It is a pleasure and a great incentive to follow the "red. " With all my love and admiration Happy New Year full of love and life! Cheers! A hug, Adela
