@Marcah: You know it! Thank you :)
This has an almost abstract quality. Very well composed.
3 Feb 2009 5:12am
Funny. They'll soon be in the rain again. Great shot.
3 Feb 2009 5:24am
Is it raining over therewhere he's standing!
Beautiful capture :)
3 Feb 2009 5:46am
this is a photo, which made me smiling and admiring in same time.
You are so talented!
3 Feb 2009 5:50am
Exceptional composition. It would be perfect to print, frame, and hang.
3 Feb 2009 5:59am
Un sujet étonnant pour un graphisme attrayant! J'aime beaucoup cette géographie de l'insolite!

he's even holding up his umby under the walkway.. i don't like those construction walkways, no where to run to baby, no where to hide ... neat shot my friend
3 Feb 2009 7:09am
This picture has many values: he is funny, mysterious, original, creative, well done... Great work!
3 Feb 2009 7:31am
Great shot. I've got a thing for people with umbrellas in photos.
3 Feb 2009 7:43am
How creative and original : love that deep shadow and its opposite in white (as a negative version of the umbrella). Love the way you see our world, sisters, and brothers, my dear !
3 Feb 2009 8:37am
This is extraordinary ! Every day there's a story, a real mood... a way to shoot at people so uncommon and unusual... you succeed in something quite scarce Sharon : bring life to your photographies with a personal and emotionnal stare.
3 Feb 2009 8:39am
a very enigmatic conclusion to the challenge - full of mystique! nicely captured!
3 Feb 2009 8:45am
The game of resistances is perfect. The silhouette is everything a success. I like the Black and white one in this photography.
Greetings

"Let it rain", sorry, currently in London, we're singing "Let it Snow". I like the mood of this image. The B&W adds to it to make it even more interesting. Nice...
3 Feb 2009 10:51am
Very good shot! I like the attempt to create something a bit nicer than the usual construction walkway...
3 Feb 2009 1:14pm
Excellent! I am curious about your technique...not technical, but physical. Do you station yourself in one spot or do you move around and look for scenes that make a good composition? I am curious about street photography because of living in a rural area. It seems very intimidating to me!
3 Feb 2009 1:16pm
wonderfull!Very graphical, and I love the silhoutte with the umbrella
3 Feb 2009 1:18pm
Wow. Really great composition! Love this sooo much! Excellent includes the title!
3 Feb 2009 1:27pm
What can I say? Such an amazing catch of such unusual moment! My favourite.:-)
3 Feb 2009 1:41pm
like an illusion! he almost looks like a shadow. the lines and compositon in this is exceptional, well seen and taken!!
3 Feb 2009 1:51pm
a great capture ! excellent composition with this silhouette between these lines.
3 Feb 2009 2:11pm
Nice series and another great representation of real life. I like the silhouetted form of a person, it’s surreal.
3 Feb 2009 4:16pm
It must rains real fast for open an umbrella in a close location. Great find
3 Feb 2009 4:17pm
This is a real gem, Sharon. Wonderfully captured, as always
3 Feb 2009 4:28pm
I really like this. It's great street photography and so fortunate to capture the umbrella-clad person in there. Really appealing.
3 Feb 2009 5:14pm
AH, there's the dark shadowy figure standing out behind the white walkway, is that another condo project?
3 Feb 2009 5:25pm
Almost spooky. The picture depicts him standing stall and walking silent.
Great capture.
3 Feb 2009 5:39pm
I like this very much. I like how I can't tell if that's an actual person or a flat silhouette. It reminds me of a Magritte painting.
3 Feb 2009 7:01pm
The high contrast and the man with umbrella give and strong effect to image. Very nice shot.
3 Feb 2009 7:29pm
Excellent composition, in the best radition of b/w classic. The black umbrella and the white inverse "umbrellas". The play with patterns, lines and b/w is very good.
3 Feb 2009 7:34pm
i like it, catching someone in the shadows walking with an umbrella. i wish i had the skills to produce such mysterious shots like these, you did well!
3 Feb 2009 7:59pm
Congratulations to weeks photo prize (vfxy) Nice B & W.... well done
3 Feb 2009 8:09pm
@micke bergling: Micke, thanks so much for letting me know. I've not had a chance to get on line since early this morning (work, work, work). I'm in shock to say the least! Totally unexpected :D
Awesome photo. Two things here - One - the symmetry in the composition - Flawless. The black and white contrast here is superb.
Second - The situation itself. How strange is that, walk with umbrella inside a building!
3 Feb 2009 9:28pm
This one is just amazing! Compo, contrast, graphic elements. Perfect!
3 Feb 2009 10:02pm
How well observed! It is so true that we always keep the umbrellas open when walking under the roof. Like Marcah sad "Just in case it rains":) Love the high contrast here.
3 Feb 2009 10:12pm
Outstanding contrast, here, BC ... the figure carrying the umbrella almost looks one-dimensional - like, perhaps, it has been painted on the rear wall of the construction walkway ... very strong graphic appeal ... as always, you see things most people would pass by ... ron
3 Feb 2009 11:16pm
Nice shot. Couldn't have been better if you staged it.
3 Feb 2009 11:30pm
Wow, this feels almost surreal! Nice capture.
4 Feb 2009 3:51am
A poetic image for sure! Love the simplicity of form, and the non-sequitur of an umbrella in a covered area, finally I love the shadow/ephemeral nature of the figure with the umbrella - I almost wonder if he's just painted on the wall. Great closer for this series!

@Damon Schreiber: Thanks so much Damon, and thank you again for such a great (and fun) theme. I, and so many others have enjoyed ourselves completely. Oh...he's real, I stood on the street for a good 30 minutes in the freezing cold waiting for something like this to happen. I was about to give up and then there he was :)
Creative and original, perfect compo, I like very much.
4 Feb 2009 8:59am
Cool shot, not sure if thats a paper figure or real person... but I like the look of it, nicely framed and great atmosphere.
