6 Feb 2009 6:54am
Sublime! absolument sublime! j'aime beaucoup. Cette brume donne une atmosphère très douce

Between foggy mood and X-rays, the buildings are like some huge threatening parents judging a lil'gal stuck within her own nightmare... but she'll wake up soon and realize how tall she has become herself.
Makes me remind of this sentence written on a stone in Washington Square : "Nothing real can be threatened, nothing unreal exists"...
6 Feb 2009 7:29am
Superb. That fog is very well captured. The edificos are perceived and the black and white one, as always, is perfect. I like.
Greetings
6 Feb 2009 8:49am

Amazing!
What an atmosphere here.. The light coming from above is almost divine :)
Love it!
6 Feb 2009 11:16am
The location is captivating on it’s own, but then you add the misty atmosphere and the processing and you get a VERY captivating image. Exceptional!
6 Feb 2009 12:12pm
Excellent mood this creates. The impact of the fog along with the perspective makes for a mystery scene.
6 Feb 2009 12:59pm
Great atmosphere! Love the fog and the ghosts of the buildings. Love it.
6 Feb 2009 1:01pm
My god, this is French Surrealism! ... it reminds me of a frame out of a Bunuel movie from the early 30s - brooding, absolutely dreamlike, a little unspecific, all of which I find fascinating. Very, very immersive picture - grand stuff!
6 Feb 2009 1:13pm
We both have a photo of fog today, you in the city and I in the forest.... Great atmosphere in yours!
6 Feb 2009 1:18pm
Terrifying. We do not know where we are and where we go. Is this the end of the world or the beginning of another. Perfect!
6 Feb 2009 1:19pm
The city shelters ghosts whom the mist reveals !
Magnificent image !
6 Feb 2009 1:25pm
Wonderful!
You've added real drama to this pic.
Your background and processing works very well!
Very nice Sharon

6 Feb 2009 1:36pm
@Sien: Thanks so much! No processing here at all, just straight conversion to black and white...although I struggle with the compression here at aminus3.
A pictorialist image, Bravo!!
6 Feb 2009 1:50pm
Like a city in an underwater nightmare. A powerful spooky image, Sharon.
6 Feb 2009 2:15pm
I have no fear of dreaming, only a fear of the mind that creates them... which happens to be my own.
6 Feb 2009 2:20pm
Enveloped in such a heavy fog...it's beautifully mysterious.
6 Feb 2009 2:25pm
Awesome foggy one. I love the buildings desappearing...
Congratulations for your weekly pics, Sharon, you really merit it!

@Phototherapy: Thanks so much Charles, so appreciated :)
I've got a thing for the fog and odd kind of weather.
I never fear your photos, I jump in them , you're very impressive Blue ;)
6 Feb 2009 2:50pm
wow... Gotham city... very impressive atmosphere... I shiver with it !!
6 Feb 2009 3:21pm
In your dreams, there is the mist and fog that blur life, there are buildings and streetlights as silhouettes. There is the time that has stopped. Great photo very evanescent.
6 Feb 2009 3:23pm
This is such a dreamy image. It looks as though the buildings are about to make their move.
6 Feb 2009 3:57pm
the atmosphere is fantastic, the shot fabulous. What's going on at the bottom? Compression artefacts or processing of low dynamic levels?
6 Feb 2009 3:58pm
Lovely! This is dreamy. The words fit the scene well.
6 Feb 2009 4:07pm
The fog scalds my bare flesh as I wander the desolation of this nightmarish landscape. I am quite alone, though the ghosts of a city once vibrant and alive, haunt my every step. The buildings rise to the sky, disappearing like the hope I carry as a torch to the past and my heart feels heavy, ladened with expectations of failure as I search the landscape for any semblence of normaility.
Am I dreaming? I pinch my flesh and close both eyes, hoping not to feel the sensation of pain, confirming the reality of the here and now.....
An absolute jewel of a shot, Sharon, seen with such vision. Pure class
6 Feb 2009 4:14pm
It's what we imagine through the murky haze that is most terrifying, a wonderful extraordinary shot.
6 Feb 2009 4:33pm
Ooooh.... nice. No processing? Wow... it's been a long time since I've seen real fog in an image!! Very nice gloomy, spooky, dreamy shot. What next? Real clouds!?
6 Feb 2009 4:41pm
...une photo qui coupe le souffle... qui donne le vertige... superbe et majestueuse.....
6 Feb 2009 5:02pm
Gorgeous shot! I never can get fog right, dammit. Photo seethes with emotion. Very well done.
6 Feb 2009 5:35pm
I love the sense of clostrophobia that the fog in this image gives, its looming darkness is excellent... csj
6 Feb 2009 6:09pm
Wow!! What else can I say...? Amazing shot...love it :)
6 Feb 2009 6:26pm
C'est superbe ! on peut tout imaginer !
6 Feb 2009 7:14pm

6 Feb 2009 10:01pm
Awesome, dark gloomy... excellent atmosphere like it a lot!
7 Feb 2009 1:28am
superb shot. love the gloomy tones as always with your shots!
7 Feb 2009 4:47am
It's all been said already, but let me also add my appreciation of the mood and atmosphere.
7 Feb 2009 8:34am
it's like living in a dream waiting for the ghost to walk by... excellent, ethereal mood and aura with buildings there but not quite there... just shadows etched in the depths of one's imagination...
7 Feb 2009 9:01am
Such a mystical atmosphere. It would be a pleasure to get lost in such a city. Terrific photo!
7 Feb 2009 1:54pm
This is a five star image my friend. I love the light from above that elegantly flows downward through the image. The texture is phenomenal. The concealment of the hard details of structures gives this almost a futuristic feel. Definitely an I image I wish I'd taken.
7 Feb 2009 3:37pm
Superb! This shot has such atmosphere and the title is perfect!
7 Feb 2009 7:11pm
Post-apocalyptic. Interesting especially as I am just reading a book called "The World Without Us," that describes the fate of the cities once man is not around to delay the process of entropy.
8 Feb 2009 5:05pm
The nuclear winter begin! Wear your mask before going outside! I prefer leaves in my basement and eat rat until it all ends...
10 Feb 2009 3:09pm
It's hard to comment a shot like than, coming after more than 70 comments....
I like the loneliness atmosphere of the photo, and the sad mood that it inspires.
It remembers me the same feeling when we walk alone roaming in our thoughts.
Really thank you!
