OH...I love to be the fool on the hill. Just this evening I went down to the river to the most romantic spot. I stood alone while all the lovers were hugging and kissing. I may have looked like a fool with just my camera...but I did see the sun going down.
This is an amazing image.

OK, I am gonna ruin all the romans :) Whether the fool on the Hill is all that.... or he is just stoned... I would take the second one, more fun to that! Great composition, Sharon, as usual.

@Nataly: In this city...I think the latter is more likely, but then I was always into fairy tales and make believe ;)
Great capture - he looks so deep in thought. Perfect framing.

A time for contemplation, fuelled by alcohol, or fuelled by a need for clarification, it matters little, as the process can often be the same. Sometimes we need space, away from the maddening crowd, a chance to ponder our lives, our hopes and frears, the innevitability of regret.
A powerful image to my eyes, Sharon

Love the eyes in your head, they always allow us to see marvels - like this slope*

Great composition. Wonder what he is thinking? Looks like a beautiful place to sit and ponder.

Amazing how this fool was still able to give you one of the best shots.
18 Mar 2009 10:30am
Well framed, nicely textured, well positioned figure, lovely tones

There is such a melancholy look in this . . more like a lost love than a winning lottery ticket !

Excellent composition. I like the way the darkness of the edges runs into the frame. Nice work.

Very thoughtful composition, well done!

Whichever poetry can have in a photography of the solitude. This the sample perfectly.

an excellent photo, and just right for this song

Looking at your title, you will understand when I say "See what I mean?"! lol :) The super composition adds to the wonderful feel this image has.

j'aime la composition... mais le traitement est trop gris à mon goût... où est le point blanc ? le noir semble manger toute l'image, jusqu'au gris...
18 Mar 2009 2:11pm
Love the title. Awesome composition, beautifully done :)
18 Mar 2009 3:09pm
Stunning composition! What a magnificent tree behind him. I would love to spend some time there.
18 Mar 2009 3:43pm
capturing this moment is the best part of all but you've still framed it perfectly and, as usual, I like your processing.
18 Mar 2009 3:44pm
Fantastic, fantastic shot. I love such solitude....to be lost in my own thoughts. This is a great shot.
18 Mar 2009 4:08pm
Beautiful composition, great mood and lovely B&W work. Another rich image.
18 Mar 2009 4:36pm
A great title to accompany this shot, is he deep in thought, pondering, searching for the future....? A strong image and presentation.
18 Mar 2009 4:38pm
A beautiful Candid shot the framing is excellent :)

18 Mar 2009 6:14pm
great capture, looks that he needed some little privacy ;)
18 Mar 2009 6:34pm
I like much, the feeling is there. I adore the composition with this massive tree trunk in standby and this multitude of branches in front of him disorganizing these memories Bravo ;)
18 Mar 2009 7:08pm
Emotional photo, the composition and tones are just perfect.
18 Mar 2009 8:05pm
Image of solitude in the shade of large trees. This photo is full of melancholy, the mood is sad and heavy as the position of the person who shot and seemed tired... excellent B&W.
18 Mar 2009 8:17pm
The mood in this image is captivating. I love your B/W processing, the dark contrasts and touch of light in the right places is superbly done. Excellent work as always Sharon.

I do that with all my pictures: trying to find a good lyric to go with it. And you managed really well! (plus I'm a big Beatles fan, so that also helps! ;) )
18 Mar 2009 10:31pm
I love the feeling that mighty tree creates, a giant that looms above the chap on the hill.
18 Mar 2009 10:48pm
Great title and a great shot... but it looks like a great place to sit and admire the view too...
19 Mar 2009 2:06am
Great pairing with image and lyrics... Wonderfully evocative.

I vaguely remember that song and didn't know who wrote it. Fits your capture well. This one hits home with me right now.

Se pauser a l'ombre de la solitude... pour mieux se retrouver...
19 Mar 2009 10:22am
I like it... great song too... and maybe the fool on the hill is the wise one after all.
19 Mar 2009 11:53am
And nobody wants to know him,
For they think that he's just a fool,
For he never gives an answer,
But the fool on the hill,
Sees the sun going down,
And the eyes in his head,
See the world spinning 'round.
