A simply magnificent image! Superbly composed, the lone figure is brilliantly placed, silhouetted against the blown out high lights! Well done!

I love the story your images tell. The lighting on this is outstanding.

Great Holga image! Excellent geometric patterns and a lovely pool of light. Looks great in black & white. I recently purchased a Holga camera but now I find my scanner won't scan anything bigger than 35 mm. Maybe I have to buy another scanner? :-(

Your eye for detail has once again done you proud. I love those steps would love to photograph them, in Vancouver 2 years ago and missed these

Does not look a good place to stumble and fall . . love the lonely drama you have created in the processing here. Powerful stuff.
12 Apr 2009 9:31am
Exceptional composition and what fantastic light, bravo!

Great shot Sharon, the place really looks isolated. It seems that she's alone on earth !

What to say, stunning isn't enought, my vocabulary is poor ;)
This is a master composition, Sharon, one I would have done myself...

Well seen and captured Sharon! I don't think you could have posed these people better if you tried. Thank you for sharing your wonderful photos with us and have a Happy Easter! ;-)

Excellent street scene here. Lines are fantastic and I like the high contrast. A picture between two worlds.
12 Apr 2009 2:29pm
Splendid street graphic arts. You have the amazing intuition of the composition... Perfect done!

Super cool shot . Stairs are always wonderful idea for shoting . Super composition !

Wow, best design in intergrating ramp and stairs (can't help with my professional point of view), got to show this to our in house landscape architects. Too bad in the US you'd need handrails along the ramp for handicapped (unless the slope is much shallower...), which will ruin the beauty of the design (just like that handrail down on the stair). Nice shot.

Love the shadow and light and sense of moody mystery. The lines are incredible!!
12 Apr 2009 4:00pm
Awesome contrast really serves those lines well. Love the softness, too. Another kind of contrast, I guess.
12 Apr 2009 4:00pm
Outstanding image, love the stair and the lonely person sitting.
12 Apr 2009 4:35pm
The marches create a sort of fascination. Very good.
12 Apr 2009 6:27pm
There's a feeling of loneliness in your composition... effective. Great work.
12 Apr 2009 10:10pm
superbe cadrage en diagonal, zébré par les marches, et ponctué par les personnages.. belle atmosphere silencieuse
12 Apr 2009 10:43pm
This is a brilliant composition. The zig-zag stairs of light lead us wonderfully.
12 Apr 2009 11:18pm
great image Sharon. I like the feel that the stairs look like a fault line on the earth's crust
12 Apr 2009 11:25pm

Something haunting as you notice the bright white of the pathway leading to and from the prone person in the image. Something beautiful in the glancing look my eyes capture, which feels almost as snow on the ground in the blown highlights. Something deeply sad in the ambience captured. Superb
13 Apr 2009 4:57am
BRILLIANT!! did you use the tilt shift for this? soooo cool!!! :)
14 Apr 2009 2:06am
@dj.tigersprout: Thanks so much :) No, not at all...this is just my bare bones Holga 120N camera. It's as primitive as they come.
But how make you to have an excellent photo every day ???? (Laughter)

The sister of I don't belong here...with that same neat strong sense of yours for graphism. That one breathes more, space you gave to it I mean by sayin' this...
