you have an eye for BW. this is a great silhouette. Love it.

The head of the lady seems so much dog-like than the dog's itself, love that ;o) Huge contrasts that work so well again. Makes me think to Elliott Erwitt's pix, the dogs photographer, but with somethin' more, the Gile's mom touch ;/

Agreed...beautiful dog. best...jerry

i love your use of shadow to frame the shot and weight it down!! beautiful work BC!! my favorite parts here are the detail in the brick-like sidewalk and the hazy background where it looks almost like snow!! faaabulous!!!

Elliot Erwit would loved this one Sharon ! Typically his kind ! :-)

Spot on with this one, exposing for the shadows to give a super silhouette image

I agree with k@. The head of the lady plays an important role in this photo, I think.

I continue to be amazed at how you can turn the ordinary into something extraordinary!!! Well done Sharon! ;-)

Your terrific selective focus accentuates the sharp silhouettes. She doesn't look like a beast to me at all (great legs; how's that for being sexist). (We know that "all" dogs are beauties!!)

des contres jours comme celui là tout les jours ^^

Excellent shot. Great capture of the light.
24 Apr 2009 1:10pm
silhouettes sur le flou de l'arrière-plan, super scène de rue, où les deux personnages crrréent l'histoire.. cadrage et lumière au top..
24 Apr 2009 1:37pm
Eheh, funny title! Who's the beast? Very nice capture!
24 Apr 2009 2:09pm
Wow! It really looks like a doll! It's almost scary ...
24 Apr 2009 2:18pm
Great proverb. And in the photo, which is the beast? ;-)
24 Apr 2009 2:19pm
Very good composition. The darkness in the foreground and the light in the background are very great. And the women with her dog are perfectly positioned.
24 Apr 2009 2:22pm
This is so perfect it could not have been staged better . . wonderfully sweet !
24 Apr 2009 2:41pm
Very nice image. Love that striking contrast between silhouette and background !
24 Apr 2009 3:33pm
Beauty, and another beauty! Brilliant photograph!
24 Apr 2009 3:43pm
There is a saying that we come to resemble the animals we have.........ha ha
24 Apr 2009 3:53pm
Looks like a Super Hero out walking their dog. The shot is fantastic and a joy to view.
24 Apr 2009 4:49pm
My mind is playing tricks on me- I thought she's walking a dog AND having another dog piggybacked on her shoulder... I need to shake off my morning drowsiness :) Nice shot.
24 Apr 2009 5:01pm
What a beautiful catch and superb title!!! Love the drama and wonderful contrast... the brightness surmounting the darkness or the other way round; who's actually walking whom; who's the beauty who's the beast... A very interesting image!:-)
24 Apr 2009 5:38pm
excellent shadow shot!dramatic mood indeed!
24 Apr 2009 9:28pm
What a hair style! She looks like a poodle herself!!! :-)
24 Apr 2009 10:02pm
So which one is which?? :) wonderful shot, Sharon. Your signature silhouette shapes and tones.
24 Apr 2009 10:32pm
Love the silhouettes and the transfers between dark and light.
25 Apr 2009 12:13am

Aside from you normal high quality in storytelling with your images, this one also struck a humorous chord with me. I suppose that's a parka, but between that and the snug fit clothes, this looks like an alien walking a dog to me. It's all good... I just made up a different kind of intrigue story this time.
25 Apr 2009 3:16am
@Mike: :-) Yes, it's a shot tight parka with a big hood. This is the exact reason why I took this shot, she looked so alien and odd to my eye. Thanks Mike!
Love the title and the image combination, excellent.
25 Apr 2009 4:11am
great mix of negative space and positive space - it's like a yin yang of person and dog :)
also hard to tell if the person is coming or going at first glance - there is an optical illusion quality
25 Apr 2009 9:57am
cool - looks like she's walking into the sun
26 Apr 2009 2:53am
Great backlight... beautiful (and a little funny) silhouettes.
