I really love this shot - two friends sharing a moment in the rain, sheltered by a single umbrella. It has an intimacy that pulls you into their story. Well done!

Lovely setting, a very dreamy effect. Beautiful work.

Love the soothing atmosphere here despite the rain. Rain can be appreciated too, should be, as everything natural around us. And i like that your characters seem to appreciate most of all the fact of being together, sharing this moment, whatever the weather... That's so true !

Beautifully composed, love the light in this, wonderful shot!

The caption of the photo makes it even more powerful and romantic! Great idea to use your holga for this one...

Sharing an umbrella and watching the scenery in light rain- how romantic and different! Nice shot and composition. Holga or pinhole?

@Howard F.: Thank you Howard. This one is shot with a Holga using 120 (medium format) film.
Again a very moody (romantic) capture, beautifully presented ... congrats Sharon!

this is just such an instant classic...great image bc...is this shot with film?...love the words on friends...sometimes hard to let the walls we build around ourselves go down but when we take that chance life doesn't feel so rude...

@Momo: Thank you so much. Yes, it was shot with 120 (medium format) film using a Holga.
I love this little vignette, this glimpse into a friendship. I love the quote you paired with it. Perfect.

Wonderful capture Sharon! The photo just screams friendship to me. I love it!!! ;-)

It may be a drab dark day. The subjects portray a warmth and intimacy. Very well seen.

All great recent work... you are an artist at heart.

It's very '60s feeling...somehow reminds me of "The Thomas Crown Affair" by Steve McQueen and Faye Dunnaway... :-)

I enjoy your 'umbrella' series. But unlike all the other photos you reveled a face here. Nice shot. I guess in Vancouver an umbrella is a regular, a must carry, almost like a wallet or a key. Funny! And here I`ve used mine ones in the past 3 years. Oh, sad :) I wouldn`t mind some wetness...

I swear, I just love an umbrella on a photo. Crazy, right? Love this.
30 Apr 2009 5:10pm
Very beautiful! I like best that fittiing the weather the foto is not sharp -well done!
30 Apr 2009 5:47pm
Looks like a still shot from a movie - very, very well done.
30 Apr 2009 6:14pm
I believe you added vignetting - and as such, it gives a very timeless quality to the image - a nostaglia of days gone by. For that, I applaud you. Well done.
30 Apr 2009 6:59pm
Oops, I realise from the details on the EXIF - you are using a Holga. The vignette was a natural product of those amazing cameras. Even more fun than playing in photoshop. I must get one. Fabulous work - thanks for sharing.

So beautifully composed! Such wonderful air and magical mood... that are only heightened through the wonderful use of the Holga! A timeless portraiture...
