"All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds, wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act on their dreams with open eyes, to make them possible."

Oh my. This is an incredibly powerful shot, made more so by those seemingly ominous words. Lovely treatment.

Oh, I love that quote. I'm more of a dreamer of the day, I think. Wonderful image of the solitary figure. Excellent composition and lighting.
7 May 2009 5:13am
Il est magnifique ce ciel qui s'ouvre sur l'horizon, belle invitation à rêver !
7 May 2009 5:20am

7 May 2009 6:28am
@Matt Sutton: ...and that is quite acceptable :) Thank you Matt!
Lovely composition with great drama in the conversion to B&W!
7 May 2009 6:47am
On a road to nowhere? Excellent composition and it looks great in B&W.

Another one among my fav at your place. I stay stuck ! Sharp & so inspired with so many angles to look at, the 3 triangles are gorgeous under these dancing stunning clouds and the guy seem ready to live his dreams for true, indeed... Do you know him or did you shoot it by chance ? Your deep almost oily blacks are heartbreaking ! Immense bravo*
7 May 2009 7:05am
beautiful! I have watched other photos from your blog and they are really nice.
7 May 2009 7:09am
Well we know which direction this guy is going in. this has many elements to comment on, I like the way the path lines disappear toward the centre of the image and the mighty sweep to the right of the image, the clouds are super though i find the bright light in the one a little distracting, the calm, oiliness of the water is very soothing, even the guys clothing match the atmosphere
7 May 2009 7:16am
Wonderful composition and contrast... love the sky. Beautiful work :)
7 May 2009 7:53am
Great composition and framing. i love the sky. And i love the quote.
we all should be day dreamers, facing everything to make our dreams come true
7 May 2009 7:54am
very nice shoot. Really like the contrastful b&w. It looks like a picture out of a dream!
7 May 2009 8:09am
Amazing composition and toning here. The underexposure adds a dramatic moment. Good quote to go with this shot.
7 May 2009 8:16am
Perfect…. it is almost one metaphor of the own life. The sky makes an impression.
Greetings

Super mood for this picture. really impressive. I love this picture, congratulations !
7 May 2009 11:20am
Good shot, but mainly excellent wotk on the clouds! May be you could try to get rid of the dirt floating on the water (right hand side)
7 May 2009 11:40am
@xavier cardell: Hmmm....yes, thank you. Perhaps I could, although my cloning skills are not the best, but will give it a try :)

7 May 2009 12:13pm
Fabulous composition, I would anyday like to be in your subjects shoes.
7 May 2009 12:36pm
The darkness does suit the haziness of dreams, very good match dreams and a road where we not sure where it leads.
7 May 2009 1:13pm
Oh Sharon; this is absolutely stunning. Clearly one of your very best and worthy of any gallery. The sky, the water, the walk, the man, the lighting, the tones - everything about it is spectacular! Bravo!!
7 May 2009 1:30pm

7 May 2009 6:33pm
fantastic shot - like something from the twilight zone. i half expect the path to emerge before him as he walks.
7 May 2009 6:44pm
this is really powerful with those white lines and that sky!
i wonder if this is the spit in James Bay, Victoria - i used to walk that spit every Saturday night in the 70's. it's strong place.
7 May 2009 7:09pm
What a sky... I love the work you have done here, the "railroad" feeling...
Iit's a road movie in one frame...
7 May 2009 7:53pm
WOW!!! Fantstic composition and amazing sky. This is symbolic image...
7 May 2009 8:16pm
Nice picture, may be this dreamer won't follow the road but will fly to this attractive light...who knows !
7 May 2009 8:23pm
very dunkel , but interesting composition- you choose to leave the burned cloud, as a revelation... contrasts are very strong- your birds are more soft and interesting for the graphic too
7 May 2009 8:47pm
a wonderful composition. really intrigued about who this person is and where they are going. you've done exceptional work sharon!
7 May 2009 8:59pm
Thanks a lot for your comment. Yes, I am very lucky to have a lot oh wonderful landscapes in my country nearby. I discover with great pleasure your work, it is realy astonishing. I like a lot.
7 May 2009 9:18pm
You are still impressing me with every post! This is just one more great sample of your work! Dark, b&w clouds...the calm but still strong contrast sea and the lone man figure who is walking to nowhere!
7 May 2009 10:23pm
Ones again great composition. But the sky, it is amazing. I feel as if I could touch it, so low the clouds hang. Love the heaviness in this image, but the sharp white lines add some lightness to it. So it is very well balanced.
8 May 2009 2:39am

Incredible clouds! I wonder where this person is going?
8 May 2009 1:11pm
Other than the mystery and solitude, it has sort of a- rites of passage meaning to it. He has to walk alone into a challenge alone. Excellent shot.
8 May 2009 8:35pm
Very nice hoe the walkway lead the eyes into the pictute, then back out again. Very nice.
9 May 2009 4:52am
