Great quote that gives a new reading to this character walking : what desire, exactly ? Good question ! Love the strong pace opposed to the cool attitude of the hand holding the cigarette ~

Very beautiful lines (sweater man and shelves at the rear). The light is very soft. Great!

Whatever did we do before cell phones? Great street shot Sharon! ;-)

@Eric Cousineau: Thanks Eric! l know! I can't imagine a world without cell phones. I have mine with me at all times...in fact, I no longer have a landline (and haven't for years now) as there really is no need for it, at least not for me.
In many cases I have real difficulty understanding "street" photography. I'm horrible at it myself. But in your case I usually "get" it! Love your work!

Love how you've framed this..and especially the juxtaposition of the vertical and horizontal lines.

A strong street shot. I like the guy's gait down the street and even his cigarette. Fine image.
25 May 2009 1:30pm
@don: Thanks Don, and thanks for spotting the cigarette. That is the main reason why I wanted to capture him. The cigarette was my main objective.
I like the way the man's walking into the frame, well timed shot

Evocative quote and powerful image... lots of questions they are stirring! Isn't life about asking questions and trying to find the answers? Oh, just another question.:-)

The storefront window is a perfect back drop for the shot! Cool!
25 May 2009 3:52pm
That is so cool. It is like breaking all the rules and coming out on top.

excellent street shot. i like the motion depicted here and what goes on around there everyday!
25 May 2009 4:30pm
blue, I only had a landline for pizza delivery, so they could ring the Apt. But then found a way to connect it to my cell phone and that was that. Great urban street capture!!
25 May 2009 4:35pm
Excellent framing and fantastic street shot! I can see an italian store in the background (pasta, pesto, fagolosi etc)! :)

a beautiful, fluid movement here -- like the split second between images or memories... a seamless pass!!

I definitely love the way this is cropped! Not many think to try this, but it really works great!!

a very sensible composition. The choice of cutting him the head is good, because it's just somebody. I love the mouvement and all what is beautifully suggested in this picture.A very nice one

I really like the walking fast feeling here. I notice the cigarette...small details are interesting.
