nice composition! B & W perfect, something we are all lunatics ....
9 Jul 2009 5:18am
I vote for this one.
I like, the fact that the focus is on the radiator.. while the subjet is the man, the "décalage", reflect the man's mind.
I really like !

Wow, this shot is so thoughtful. Sad too, but still dignified. The composition is awesome, with its three strong components. Your choice of quotation brings it all together. Nice work.
9 Jul 2009 7:44am
A good picture of this dramatic moment, the b/w adds to the expression.
9 Jul 2009 7:44am
Such a strong story, light outdoors, dark in. Powerful & thought-provoking (the very aim of each true photo ! bravo... AND brava ;/
9 Jul 2009 7:49am
Once again our ghosts show up. This one represents the lunatic all of us have inside, our fears to the others, the mistrust to the others, the lack of safety nowadays. I'm absolutely certain that all of us would have kept away from this man way. Anyway an impressive shot!

beautiful composition, and i like how the title is open to interpretation :)
9 Jul 2009 8:58am
Beautiful composition, light and B/W! Strange atmosphere! Bravo!!!
9 Jul 2009 11:09am
Great title. I like the odd focus plane.
9 Jul 2009 11:11am
Another excellent capture Sharon! Creative and insightful. Well done! ;-)
9 Jul 2009 11:14am
great picture. You just think that there is something wrong with that person :??... just my first feeling with this photo.
9 Jul 2009 12:00pm
yikes! he sure looks sinister.. i like the way you framed him too.. nice work! :D
9 Jul 2009 12:25pm
LOL...he really does look like a bit odd! very moody image
9 Jul 2009 12:25pm
Oh, this is another great one. I must look like this at times when I am lurking around my dark garden. The crazy woman that talks to the birds and reads books by candles. I would hope that my posture is better than this. LOL
This is a stunning image. I love how he is in the background with the focus not being on him. Very nice.
9 Jul 2009 12:57pm
WOW Sharon .... this is such a strong image, i really like this one - great title to
9 Jul 2009 1:31pm
Whooo .. .looks like a outtake from a splatter, impressive! You took a awesome moment.
9 Jul 2009 2:09pm
Amazing portrait. It certainly reflects the Pink Floyd line.
9 Jul 2009 2:44pm
Tremendous photography. It is like a sequence of impossible planes, extraida of a surrealistic film. Brilliant. It impresses the glance of the man
Greetings

What an amazing picture! It`s not only well composed and caught an interesting scene and place, but is even a bit spooky.
9 Jul 2009 7:15pm
Perfect for me. A great shot again!!! In my collection vfxy.
9 Jul 2009 7:48pm
I love the music of pink floyd, your photo would be worthy to illustrate one of their songs!
impressive photo!
friendships!
9 Jul 2009 8:10pm
A scary, weird but very compelling image. A work of genius.
9 Jul 2009 8:15pm
Love it! Ths stark vantage point almost represents the view from inside the asylum too.
9 Jul 2009 9:01pm
quel terrible visage, quelle lumière dure, une photo toute en contraste et en rugosité, les extrêmes s'y côtoient, une grande photo..
9 Jul 2009 9:09pm
nice image. captured exceptionally depicting this man's thoughts. great!
9 Jul 2009 10:18pm
Well, there is a story there indeed. Might be a bit spooky one though... Very impressive shot, Sharon! And your framing , as usual, is superb.
9 Jul 2009 10:40pm
An incredibly powerful image done in your own unmistakable style.
9 Jul 2009 10:53pm
Man... that's a creepy looking guy, but he must have reason for his being. Nice capture.
10 Jul 2009 12:25am
A powerful and moving image. The lighting and tones enhance the mood in this shot as does the view through the window. My heart goes out to this person who appears to be so down and out.
10 Jul 2009 12:29am
This is a very moving image for me....To me it rather feels true to the times we are living in- Many without psychiatric care, homelessness, loneliness... This is a true work of art.
10 Jul 2009 2:28am
@Tracy: Thank you Tracy...this shot was purely accidental as I was photographing the radiator but then I saw this man approaching. For me it's yet another reminder of the way the world has become these days. Sometimes I feel myself I am just a few steps away from being out on the street. I can see how this can happen so quickly and without warning...
Perfect framing, sharpness and textures.
In summary, a good job.
Un saludo

"The paper holds their folded faces to the floor
And every day the paper boy brings more."
excellent lyrical accompaniment for this excellent shot.
10 Jul 2009 12:31pm
Ah !! Pink Floyd, "The dark size of the moon", that's all my youth... :-))
A moving composition, he seems to be sad....
10 Jul 2009 12:44pm
This is such an unusal image, it's (to me) like this guy doesn't fit with the scene, he seems out of place/context. 5 * from me! :)
10 Jul 2009 1:12pm
A marvelous capture of this man with the serious, thoughtful look. This "accident' turned out to be very good for your picture!
10 Jul 2009 1:26pm
Seems really possessed by his thoughts... we will never know what's in his mind... but wow what a glance. Thrilling somehow. And well it's terrible to see how our politics realy don't care about mental health of their citizens. The violence of the sreets, eco crisis have durable impacts. (Nothing is done for homeless people for ex)
10 Jul 2009 1:35pm
Powerful image. He really is a scarey looking guy!!!
10 Jul 2009 2:38pm
I really like it with the apparent protective barrier.
I don't know if he has mental issues but a study says that 50% of the homeless in Canada have them. They have been turned to the streets by our caring society. All the worry about "terrorism" when then terrors are within.
10 Jul 2009 3:47pm
excellente prise de vue, le regard du personnage est vraiment stupéfiant!
10 Jul 2009 7:05pm
What a catch !! The light is beautiful, and the fuzzy man's glance so frigthening... A real good photo (another one ;) See u Sharon.
10 Jul 2009 7:19pm
This is such a fantastic story, captured within this image. Such a sad reminder of what so many people are experiencing. There but for the grace of God go I.
12 Jul 2009 2:41am
Probably one of your best song-to-picture matchups :) - Ok, I am biased because I love pink floyd...:) - The framing in this is very good, with the guy behind the window....
12 Jul 2009 8:10pm
beautiful interiors BC -- that is what you do best (besides light, shadow, composition, reflection -- and all the rest!!!) beautiful moments!!!
13 Jul 2009 3:57am
Nice, nice, nice... is simply fantastic!!! A masterpiece!
13 Jul 2009 7:52am
A great capture directly from Cuckoo's Nest... Very moving.
17 Jul 2009 12:14pm
I am touched with this story you build in my head, hearing the Floyds words... We are inside, in the warm, looking to a poor guy outside, on the dark side of the life, like warching a TV serie...
This is a great photography, Sharon!
17 Jul 2009 4:28pm
Yes, very strong image , with a sad story behind . I feel it here, I feel it in my picture that is so similar to this ( I hope you do not mind my comparison of these two shots )
