For what we leave behind us is a part of ourselves
We must die to one life before we can enter another..."

Seasons, like everything, change and move, and accepting it is our life's biggest challenge. Everything becomes simpler and sweeter then, that's why i hope i'll accept all the weather's changes this winter (i decided ! :) and that beautiful mirroring light bumping into the building in your photo offers a silverish gorgeous promise at the end of the path. Thks*

"Walking down Main Street / Getting to know the concrete / Looking for a purpose from a neon sign / I would meet you anywhere the western sun meets the air / We'll hit the road, never looking behind" (Son Volt)
The deep black, the stunning perspective & this gorgeous melancholy made this one my new favourite beauty of yours, Sharon. Looking at this pearl the music starts playing in my head immediately & the head cinema is opened now. What a truly amazing picture & great composition! All the best & safe travels, Fritsch.

A great image Sharon, emphasizing our own chnages in life, our ups and downs, rain and sun, love and hate, life and death. Life is an endless passage to changes in fact.

excellent quote: speaking of changes in the weather -- the heat has totally disappeared! it is now 'late' fall... no more humidity, more rain clouds... this summer has been so bizarre!! beautiful areas of darkness in this shot -- an ominous feeling -- especially with those turbulent looking clouds ahead! so moody!

the big white cloud is ready to enter the gap between the skyscrapers and it will cover the asphalt like a mystic river with whipped cream - great shot !

Something's coming and it could be the light...could be.
16 Sep 2009 2:25pm

Nice BW shot . Like to see it clear and sharp with great contrast .
16 Sep 2009 5:29pm
The fall is at your doorstep, Sharon. I can see it in that ominous cloud formation in the distance: speaks of rain, but cool rain. There is always that struggle between the comfortable now and the uncertain tomorrow, but change makes our short lives so much more interesting, don't you think? Hope you are having a pleasant day.

Dramatic street with your black and white! Nice job :)
16 Sep 2009 8:00pm
melancholic state can determine this kind of image, especially if it's in BW. the dramatic skyline is a plus and the angle is great here too. very good mood to determine a change in season!
16 Sep 2009 8:41pm
Great B&W street photo. interesting view of the cloudy sky
16 Sep 2009 9:05pm
Those clouds are powerful! Amazing shot here.
16 Sep 2009 11:20pm
Great composition with the city opening up to the ominous sky.
17 Sep 2009 12:55am
That is a great quote... something I feel often... and reflected in this somber image.
17 Sep 2009 1:32am
D'avoir privilégier le ciel est une bonne potion à mon avis , mais le résultat peut surprendre...
17 Sep 2009 2:37am
Great shot, the dark ominous clouds gives it a great atmosphere
17 Sep 2009 3:29am

17 Sep 2009 8:13am
ooooh very dark and foreboding!!! kind of makes the street look ominous... so empty, because of the weather i imagine lol tho i don't miss that heat wave we had this summer one bit, there's no melancholy in it's passing lol... nice shot sister!
17 Sep 2009 8:36am

Warm greetings
17 Sep 2009 11:06am
Very nice perspective on this street with buildings.
17 Sep 2009 11:14am
So full of atmosphere it is as if the clouds are billowing down the very street !
17 Sep 2009 12:22pm
A beautiful perspective on this shot Sharon! It leads the eye deep into the shot...right to the clouds. Well done! ;-))
17 Sep 2009 1:07pm
Fantastic.
In the distance, like a dramatic window to infinity.
17 Sep 2009 3:46pm
Love the dark contrasts of the towering buildings and how the eye is drawn to the light and dramatic sky. Excellent mood compo as usual.
17 Sep 2009 11:42pm
an imaginative and very creative mix of high and low-key elements- superb!
18 Sep 2009 5:54am
Well, there are things, fortunately or not, that we still cannot control...and weather is one of them...great perspective and well captured, wise at taking exposition to the clouds and leaving the city in the dark
18 Sep 2009 11:04am
Shows the cavernous loneliness of the city...
18 Sep 2009 11:41am
Oh love so much this black urban construction and luminous blank and cloudy sky. Full of details, perfect on a geometrical plan. Give the impression to go somewhere but without knowing exactly the end the road/the destination (but the way is so much more important...) Like it a lot as always.
18 Sep 2009 6:59pm
Such a strong image of urban mood (and profound melancholy)! The dramatic clouds, the perspective, the people walking away, the deep tone... are all making the atmosphere even more poignant!
19 Sep 2009 1:25am
Very creative with the framing and the texture of the cloud. This is a scary scene when the only sky you can see is about to dump a whole lot of water on you. Nice shot.
21 Sep 2009 6:35pm
