Footfalls echo in the memory
Down the passage which we did not take
Towards the door we never opened
Into the rose-garden
-- T. S. Eliot

powerful shot! no need to have focus! memory was just for recall, for more of the time. it was a fragment of the past! what we do is only carefully take care of it! love it very much!
25 Nov 2009 5:06am
i noticed the camera was powershot a640! great use of it!
25 Nov 2009 5:07am
@flyingwind风飞扬: Thank you! It's the camera I carry with me all the time, walking to and from buses and trains as I do the daily commute to work.
this is an awesome shot sharon! composition and the dreamy mood you created is brilliant. you're an expert on this!
25 Nov 2009 5:19am
I love that dark tunnel of trees and the misty light at the end. The woman seems to be about to be engulfed in the mist. Very cool.
25 Nov 2009 5:37am
great shot! i love the framing, the silhouettes, the black and white, and everything about this picture actually. great eye! I like the lonely mood you created here.
25 Nov 2009 5:58am
I'm just beginning my stroll on Am3 and I already know this photo will be one of my very fav ! How much i love your B&W, smooth feelings about those legs-like trunks shaping a tunnel of light for the woman to pass under, and I love her stance, and pace (that hand, she lets free when the other seems less). The darkest on the left (past), more and more light on the right (future) and an inviting path to the rose-garden with the desire to open new doors now ? I lOvE the soul of your so rich image utterly. Bravo & Merci*

A wonderful, diffused black and white image...and trees meeting overhead always put me in a dreamy, remembering mood !!
25 Nov 2009 6:27am
Weather fit only for a camera. best...jerry
25 Nov 2009 6:29am
there is a spring in her step- is she trying to escape or catch up? The hugging mist adds just the right amount of menace, beauty and a sense of the sinister.
25 Nov 2009 6:40am
Strange, I guess just I you wanted. And for this ,at the least, this a great picture.
25 Nov 2009 6:42am
Just like in Romantic movies.......We can see and listen noise of feet in the same time.....And the Diana Krall's voice (singing"Just the Way you are" ) ............... Jazzy Mood,as I like...
25 Nov 2009 7:32am
Une affiche de polar ! Bonne journée.

the idea behind this shot is wonderful. i like the shiny background and the unfocussed style.
25 Nov 2009 8:21am
Tan sólo siluetas, un camino que se pierde en la niebla ... y un caminante. Me llena de sensaciones
Cordiales saludos
25 Nov 2009 8:36am
What a fantastic image. I love the atmosphere!
25 Nov 2009 8:54am
This is fantastic! I love the mood from the deep velvety blacks and the fog. Bravo!
25 Nov 2009 8:58am
What a wonderful capture ! Mystery, charm… I like it very much !
I run away myself to make a small round behind… :-)
25 Nov 2009 11:09am
Lovely ghostly and/or dreamy silhouette... walking alone, with lights by her sides.
Could be perfect for the end of a movie... ;-)))
25 Nov 2009 12:00pm
Your work with light is simply amazing - beautifully done.
25 Nov 2009 12:16pm
Super atmosphere Sharon! I must say I have had a few unfocused memories and they look exactly like this!! Well done! ;-))
25 Nov 2009 12:33pm
Fantastic mood and dream-like effect. Extraordinary light!!!
25 Nov 2009 12:57pm
Fantastic, beautiful, nostalgic... I'm sorry I have only same words as others. By the way, was it taken on the way you commute ?
25 Nov 2009 12:58pm
I love the ghostly mood and dream-like effect ! great feeling of loneliness, love the strong contrast between the dark trees and the high lighting ! wonderful shot Sharon !

Eres un maestro creando este tipo de atmósfera misteriosa e interesante

"I walked away / And you stood there tremblin' / Like a leaf / In the autumn chill" (John Hiatt)
What a brilliant composition, Sharon. The magic moment between arriving & leaving. Already or still slightly out of focus ... great! All the best & safe travels, Fritsch.
25 Nov 2009 1:36pm
@JoeB: Ha! You made me laugh and smile. You know....I guess I am, not to mention I have perfected the art of dodging rain drops :)
Bravo Sharon! I love this melancholic atmosphere. It's so full of... November.
25 Nov 2009 1:42pm
Just had to visit your archive after your visit to mine .... and I'm not disappointed. Some fabulous images that I'll have to look at properly with more time . The black and white street stuff is a total dream ... the sort of stuff that I'm working on in some shape or form.
all the best richard
25 Nov 2009 1:48pm
Another dreamscape, another great shot! Well done.
25 Nov 2009 2:00pm
The atmosphere is strong in this photo! I want to take my coat, my hat and my mittens and go walking in the humid and cool (I'll also be next week but further east ...)
25 Nov 2009 2:12pm
Very classic image, works perfectly in B&W, would lose some of it's impact had it been colour. You must have been really happy when you got this shot. Excellent work.
25 Nov 2009 3:04pm
'walk toward the light'...great frame and light bc...trees and fog, and someone to 'see'...what a combination...thanks...
25 Nov 2009 3:31pm
Excellent b&w in your wonderful classic style. Missed you at the VEP show on Friday. Show was well done! Lots of people there!
25 Nov 2009 3:54pm
@Macrobaby: Thank you Rhonda! Thank you for coming out to the show. It was unfortunate, but I had a family commitment and I had to leave early and miss everyone who came out to support us. I appreciate you making the trek out there, and in that crazy rain, wind and lighting!
What a psychodelic shot - In fact that is so msytic, I absolute like it. I always love such pieces of artwork, but my way changed a little bit: I follow the same aim (mystic-natural) but without unsharpen post processing, simple out of the box. But anyway: seeing all your pictures (like this one) in a hugh collection would be a awesome exhibition :D
25 Nov 2009 4:00pm
@Nicki: Thanks so much Nicki! Well, truth be known this shot was out of focus when I took it, there was not time to wait and with this camera there is a delay, so I had no choice otherwise I'd miss the moment. I did add a slight layer of blur to make it a little easier on the eyes. Other than that, it's pretty much straight out of the camera besides the black & white conversion :)
Beautiful atmospheric shot! This image is full of mystery, notably due to a perfectly coherent post-processing. Very nice work!
25 Nov 2009 4:29pm
Stunning. The fog is magical. The silhouettes are perfect. And the whole photograph is mystical.
25 Nov 2009 4:42pm
I knew you were not able to travel to central memory! Very pleasant to watch and the character will go out of our nightmares ... Bonne semaine.
25 Nov 2009 4:56pm
Oh, my god. this is best photo, it is very very nice shot
25 Nov 2009 4:57pm
Memory isn't always unfocused? Time, always time. "Martyrized slaves of time" we are, to use the expression from Beaudelaire.
25 Nov 2009 5:11pm
@António Pires: thank you António...yes, always :)
Excellente image! tu as su donner une superbe ambiance pleine de mystère à cette magnifique photo! Allez vers la lumière! J'aime beaucoup! Bravo! Excuse-moi d'avoir écrit en français, j'espère que tu auras compris!:)
25 Nov 2009 7:00pm
Breathtaking. This is an awesome shot!!! Love it!
25 Nov 2009 7:19pm
Yep!!! The ones we forgot were, perhaps, the most lovely memories. A beautiful composition.
26 Nov 2009 1:38am
she's so beautifully framed by those trees - almost like they are curtains
26 Nov 2009 2:07am
How well captured is this! What a great shot!
I love this atmosphere, really
26 Nov 2009 5:58am
I like very much these poetic and magic compositions of your particular style. Very beautiful :)
26 Nov 2009 11:53am
Hi Sharon,
Beautiful misty mood.
The arm gives the right point of movement to give dynamism to the image.
Great timing.
;o)
26 Nov 2009 1:14pm
Beautiful glow, excellent framing and powerdul use of bright white and stark black.
26 Nov 2009 2:44pm
une belle silhouette dans cette brume, la lumière du fond semble être une lueur d'espoir...
26 Nov 2009 2:48pm
As in a dream, the silhouette is graceful as an arriving appearance of nowhere.
26 Nov 2009 3:43pm
The most artistic eye and incredible catch!!! You've made me speechless for a long while... the longer I look at it, the more I admire how perfectly the light, the contrast, the softness, the blur, and her posture have been working together to bring out that unique dreamy and mystic mood! Wonderful wonderful work Sharon!:-)))
26 Nov 2009 3:47pm
Wow Sharon, I think this one of my favorites of yours. I think this would make an excellent book cover for someone who writes horror novels ;) seriously the tress and fog as the woman emerges towards you (very nice!!). I was just noticing that it is quite foggy where you live ;)
26 Nov 2009 3:56pm
Beautiful! I love the mood! Great composition and lighting. Well done
Happy Thanksgiving.
26 Nov 2009 6:17pm
beautiful photo. it evokes a feeling and mood.
and i love the ts eliot quote.
26 Nov 2009 11:41pm
The shapes and patterns set by the trees are magical . . the whole composition is like something from theater.
27 Nov 2009 12:13am
i just noticed, your description, taken from burnt norton,
i love that poem. I think it's pretty sad that T. S. Eliot put a lot of work and effort into writing these deep poems and he gets famous for writing a few silly poems on his cat. (later turned into the musical "Cats")
27 Nov 2009 2:53am
@Chris Pereira: Thanks Chris. I know...it is a pity, but it seems to be that way for so many poets, novelists, musicians, artists etc. It seems the public at large doesn't look past what the media promotes.
really great shot, it makes you focus on the figure
27 Nov 2009 6:13am
Fantastic...what a mood...what an atmosphere you captured here !
27 Nov 2009 6:18am
this is so dreamy. . . so surreal. . . tastefully done Sharon. I am moved.
27 Nov 2009 1:39pm
Mysterious and melancolic mood, you capture that so well and as no one else !!!
27 Nov 2009 1:42pm
eerie but i can't help but keep looking at it.. very nice shot.. :)
27 Nov 2009 3:13pm
What a wonderful marriage of photo and text. Really masterful!
27 Nov 2009 7:22pm
love this! an into the mist kind of feeling portrayed here.
27 Nov 2009 11:30pm
You are a woman with vision, Sharon. I love coming here to see what you have to see. This is another favorite.
28 Nov 2009 6:49am
is that a friend of yours or the angel of death? lol hehe just joking, beeeeautiful shot!!!
28 Nov 2009 7:25am
This image certainly has magical elements to it, to me it is like someone saying goodbye
28 Nov 2009 8:00am
I love everything in this image, perspective and strong light, the way she goes with lightness and confidence. Great great great capture. Bravo to you !!
28 Nov 2009 11:41am

:)
28 Nov 2009 12:43pm
A marvelous and mysterious shot ! I love the poetic light.
28 Nov 2009 1:37pm
Reminds me of a horror movie! Nevertheless, I loved how you framed this shot.
28 Nov 2009 3:16pm
Wow, I love this image and it's title! Excellent B&W processing and contrast. 5 stars, I would give you 6 if I could!
28 Nov 2009 3:41pm
you've created a terrific atmosphere in this image. well done.
29 Nov 2009 7:24pm
Excellent moody shot... a feeling of loneliness.
30 Nov 2009 3:40am
Strange atmosphere an intimist picture as one pleases
I like .....
30 Nov 2009 7:29pm
The best part is you can sort of see the person's appearance but not quite clearly. And her(?) commanding gesture is fabulous, I'm pretty sure she was just swinging her arm as she strolled, but it's a strange and haunting atmosphere. Nice shot.
30 Nov 2009 8:29pm
Love it! You always know the perfect way to capture a scene.
1 Dec 2009 5:08pm
This shot certainly does invoke the feeling of a dream.
2 Dec 2009 12:44am
poised, elegant, atmospheric, cinematic -- amazing work as always Sharon and congrats again on that wonderfully candid interview you did with Alessandro -- 5 stars for the photo, the interview, and your magical body of photographs!!! bravo!!!! x
2 Dec 2009 2:07am
like most of your shots, this one is again of high quality. But, and with the next one, I really like the use of the trees to improve the focus on people, a very strong interaction between nature and human, thanks for sharing!
4 Dec 2009 10:26am
Beautiful and surreal. Wonderful shot as usual!
5 Dec 2009 2:19am
I like the sense of irreality in this one! yes, it's a good portrait of memory
5 Dec 2009 4:49pm
