@Zing: Thank you. No, not wet at all, but a very cold night. It's a restaurant that makes steamed burritos, so all of their windows fogged up.
beautiful sharon! excellent night scene. u must have been really quick in getting this shot or u waited for it :) great job!

Magnifique, encore une merveille qui ferait honneur à Saul Leiter. Bravo
13 Dec 2009 6:19am
A steamy warm place to get some food and hot drink on a cold day. I like those warm colors.
13 Dec 2009 6:29am
A photo full of suggestion, and a sarcastic verse of cummings.
13 Dec 2009 6:55am
Fabulous luminous sections of color and shape and texture. A wonderful moody image !
13 Dec 2009 7:41am
One frame and so many stories... Love the light. Regards ;)
13 Dec 2009 7:49am
A picture with many possibilities to understand- coming back to it, as I have done this morning (in Sweden) some times, I can see/interpret something new each time. The text is also "opened" to give severalexplanations.

Love the cross in the middle of the composition, how it shares the images in 4 squares (seasons... of Life ?) and that beautiful misted up glass, misted up with the colors of the vivid fire burning behind. And it's such a great idea to underline it with this quote, all the symbols grow up at once within the frame. Love it whole* Have a quiet sunday, dear you ~
13 Dec 2009 9:03am
@k@: Thanks Karine :) You are also so observant and I love the way you think, the way you see things. I was originally going to post this in black and white, but kept being drawn back to the colour, thinking it told the story more clearly. I wish you a wonderful sunday my dear.
I admire the effect of condensation on the silhouette and colors ...
13 Dec 2009 9:18am

13 Dec 2009 12:59pm
Good morning my dear ^^, last night I dream of 11 apes and run 95 miles away to found myself. He, this shot makes my mind soft and foggy. Like it, have a nice WE! Cheers
13 Dec 2009 1:47pm
@Nicki: Good morning Nicki! That was quite a dream...you must have sore legs this morning :) A soft and foggy mind is best, speaking from my own experience.. I hope you are having a nice weekend.
Boy do I know Robson street, the heart of the shopping zone, and we usually stay near Howe, West Pender or Burrard on our first few days before catching the ferry back through Active pass and home to beautiful Sidney by the sea. I adore Vancouver, and can't wait to be back there in April.
There's a lovely sinister air in this photograph, to my eyes, like a still from a key moment in a motion picture, something is about to occur..... Neat shot, Sharon.
13 Dec 2009 2:43pm
@SOUL AFLAME: Thanks so much Paul! I am not one for shopping, so I tend to enjoy Robson Street when most of the stores are closed, either late at night or early morning. If you get a chance to get in touch when you and your family come through town in the spring, please do!
A tremendous scene that could well be from a film..... are they reporting a murder, are they being followed ?
Re: cummings quote. Maybe people mould you into what you are - good or bad - people aren't born to be bad.
13 Dec 2009 3:12pm
The colours are fantastic Sharon! And the steamy, almost out of focus feeling is wonderful! Well seen and captured! ;-)

"Steamy window coming from the body heat" (Tony Joe White)
Been away too long. But now I'm glad to return where the warmth & heat can fill me up. Amazing photograph that shows so less & makes me imagine a lot. Great, Sharon! All the best & safe travels, Fritsch.
13 Dec 2009 4:23pm
Love the way the red glow is diffused by the steamy glass. Nice the way the address is backlighted. You snapped at a good instant to get the figure in action.
13 Dec 2009 5:04pm
.... A shade passes. Furtive, fast moment and always well photographed !
13 Dec 2009 5:05pm
Mnimalist image with great colors and light... This can tell so many stories...
13 Dec 2009 5:20pm
I like the warmth of the light inside and the steam on the glass! Great words also!
13 Dec 2009 5:30pm
This is utterly fantastic! I really like the heat that appears to be radiating outwards. . .
13 Dec 2009 5:41pm
I just love the dampness on the door opening up to the warm light....
13 Dec 2009 6:51pm
Outstanding. Dynamite cummings quote. He was my favorite poet in the 60s.
13 Dec 2009 7:33pm
in honor of ee cummings, all is in lowercase today: there's nothing better than a thought-provoking image, whether it is voluntary or imposed - here one is stimulated and pause to reflect... the shadow of a person, the illumination, a story... Bravo!! :-)
13 Dec 2009 8:25pm
a nice athmosphere, emerges from your photo, sharon, atmosphere "night" warm colors!
kiss
13 Dec 2009 8:43pm
Interesting through the window shot. The steam obscuring her makes it interesting.
13 Dec 2009 10:01pm
Fantastic shot, Sharon. I love the sense of mystery about what's going on behind the condensation on the doors. The longer I look, the more I can make out and it just deepens the mystery. Well done.
14 Dec 2009 1:01am
Myterious one! We want to know what lies behind that misty door. Excellent colors and atmosphere.
14 Dec 2009 1:21am
great weather, great night, great shot and great mood!
14 Dec 2009 5:31am
i love ee cummings, if everything happens that can't be done... i still grow up in total denial of who i am :) nice mooody shot, what do you think of our snow?
14 Dec 2009 6:50am
@Elaine-: Thanks Elaine :) Well, the snow never really amounted to much, and you have no idea how badly I want to be buried in it. Doing a snow dance today to bring it on :)
Jolie ambiance sur cette photo ! Bonne journée.

14 Dec 2009 2:54pm
I'm captivated! Is it the colour or the blur or the obscured figure or the mist on the glass panel or the mood of the night... don't know what it is... (have to frank, even don't know how to relate it with the quote) but I just like it, no, I love it without knowing the cause! Magical shot my dear!:-)))
14 Dec 2009 3:20pm
great mood with the fogging on the glass door, great light too
14 Dec 2009 4:03pm
A steamy story unfolds here. Tantalising shot. I like the previous tree and the crisp frost edged leaves too, that send a shiver up my spine. I will put another log on the stove.
14 Dec 2009 5:32pm
i love the reddish and white-ish glows coming from inside -- must be a nice to get out of the cold and into the warmth!!! looks like there would be a lovely and savory smell in the air too -- food!!! :)

15 Dec 2009 12:50am
It can be analyzed, interpreted, but i really find it mesmerizing.
15 Dec 2009 2:07am
The light from within - glowing so brightly. A woman escaping the cold. It is wonderful to look at!
15 Dec 2009 3:08am

15 Dec 2009 3:20am
Very Nice Sharon! Rare treat to see some color and I love the red coming through the glass. That was a nice shot indeed.
15 Dec 2009 4:29am
The Comments here are as entertaining as the image . . I had seen a woman reporting a fire and all the alternatives that go before me are an entertainment in themselves. Great posting.

A superb and intriguing shot. it makes my imagination run!
15 Dec 2009 9:43am
So beautiful it is! There's a sense of motion and wait that makes this capture really misterious! It remembers me something of Blade Runner! I really like it!

Nice pic, makes your mind wander.
BTW; EE Cummings was wrong: It takes more courage not to grow up and stay who you are.
31 Dec 2009 2:30pm
This is an excellent photo! You manage to capture the "feel" perfectly. Well done!
