In the bleak midwinter
Frosty wind made moan
Earth stood hard as iron
Water like a stone
Snow had fallen, snow on snow
Snow on snow
In the bleak midwinter

21 Dec 2009 7:49am
stunning, the lone character is placed perfectly, they could also be a metaphor for all kinds of things, they look lost, cold and directionless. Its a great image.
21 Dec 2009 8:22am
Misty mood and snow is everywhere.
I can feel cold and hear silence as well. Hesitating walk on the icy path ? ;-)
21 Dec 2009 9:18am
Beauty on beauty - how i love that she walks between to bright paths of light, her hands in her pockets and that totally fairy trees like a rain of light : gorgeous !
Her back silhouette makes me also think of a keyhole right in the middle of this white door.
You have a very sweet (busy ;) week, dear Sharon*

21 Dec 2009 2:25pm
a secret wonderland!! while in alaska -- i had plenty of hours to discover new lands -- it was so cold outside, i wouldn't see anyone else on the streets or in the parks, they were inside keeping warm! it was a bit lonely i guess -- but the world was mine to explore and discover... and that was more than enough!!! :) beautiful!!!
21 Dec 2009 2:28pm

"But lately I've had something on my mind / It's growing stronger all the time / Calling out when I'm alone / But I'm a poet / And I'm bound to walk the line / Between the real and the sublime / And give the muses back their own" (David Rodriguez)
Perfect & so full of atmosphere that it leaves me breathless. Great composition, an amazing photograph, Sharon! All the best & safe travels, Fritsch.
