A good title for a very strong suggestion, a hard image in my mind!
28 Dec 2009 6:36am
astounding picture and story- the symbolic point (switches) is obvious!

Prendre un nouveau départ.........................peut etre...
28 Dec 2009 7:27am

28 Dec 2009 8:02am

28 Dec 2009 8:42am
I remember this song, it was quite sad. I was 16 years old at that time. But it sounds good to me. Great memories. Don't forget to look left and right, can be useful ! ;-)
Hope you did spend a nice Christmas time Sharon.
28 Dec 2009 9:12am
Geez we have something in common in our post, i guess (you'll tell me if you agree...) I love this compo a lot, and the zig-zaguing tracks are so sharp, as much as the horizon is foggy ! Strong contradictions, just like in real Life... And i'll have the song in mind the whole day but that's cool too... Bravo ! And I'm happy you're back, i was kind of missing your photographs ~
28 Dec 2009 9:26am
fantastic imaginative shot
this would make a great music album cover
28 Dec 2009 9:33am
oh yes ! I remember this song ! change your heart, change your mind on the railway of life......excellent composition with the man, love the low angle, the perspective in the fog. a great sharpness on the foreground, a great composition !
28 Dec 2009 10:10am
Beautiful! I gave it a 4 star!
28 Dec 2009 10:26am
I do not know the song ... but this does not prevent me to enjoy this unusual composition of this enigmatic figure, the lights twinkling on track ...
28 Dec 2009 11:30am
well framed one :)
I love the mood of this photo
28 Dec 2009 11:51am
A wonderful crossroads picture Sharon! Let your heart make the decision.... ;-)
28 Dec 2009 12:38pm
This is a great B&W! I can see it as a CD or book cover!
28 Dec 2009 12:40pm
Great composition as usual Sharon. Life is made of crossroads, decisions... sometimes if you to listen to your heart and others the reason. Excellent piece of work!
28 Dec 2009 12:47pm
Amazing composition! Using B/W processing increase the drama and intention of the photo. The quote is prefect. I had to go find the song, which fits the mood so perfectly! Thank you for sharing.
28 Dec 2009 2:50pm
si ca continu, j'en connait un qui va se faire ecrabouiller !
28 Dec 2009 3:01pm
Oh my, yours and k@'s are such an overwhelming pair today!!!!! The light, tone, perspective, DOF, framing... are impeccable and the resulting atmosphere drama simply amazing! Incredible work Sharon!
28 Dec 2009 3:20pm
Wauw, I'm impressed!! What a good framing! Very good that it's in black en white!!
28 Dec 2009 3:35pm
Another fascinating suggestive photograph of a deeply-moving drama unfolding before our eyes. What a stunner!
28 Dec 2009 3:52pm
On a minor note first, Sharon... Just recently this song featured on a TV show and my wife had never heard it, though an old favourite of mine. I had to download a naff YouTube video for her and then the full song on Limewire and back came the memories of the eighties for us both.
The photograph is simply awesome. A still from a Hollywood film, powerful, unforgettable. Superb photography, as always. So many possibilities, so many scenarios........
28 Dec 2009 4:00pm
Great perspective in this excellent shot ... very good contrast, congratulations!
28 Dec 2009 4:43pm
Change your heart but get off the tracks! This is a strong image. The low angle and the almost graphic man, all in black, make it so. A brilliant piece of work.
28 Dec 2009 5:13pm
Oh Sharon, you must talk him how of it...show him how wonderful he looks in the photo and that should do it ;)
28 Dec 2009 5:55pm
Fabulous. Wonderful leading lines. The stark silhouette is terrific.
28 Dec 2009 5:57pm
A unique perspective that really makes this a great capture! I love the symmetry seen in the railroad ties and railroad tracks and the vanishing horizon; all work very well here.
28 Dec 2009 6:13pm
Let's the viewer provide the narrative. best...jerry
28 Dec 2009 6:16pm
This is a still from a film right before the climax. Perfection. Love the sense of timing.
28 Dec 2009 6:21pm
This is a magnificent photo - top notch professional stuff! Excellent composition, topic, lighting, contrast... very well done indeed!
28 Dec 2009 6:59pm
interesante imagen con las lineas y perspectiva, muy buen B&W!!
28 Dec 2009 7:04pm
Excellent composition Sharon, but very dangerous, a train can hide the other one from it! Very beautiful B/W and perspective!
28 Dec 2009 7:21pm
Great line going like life to knew horizons and those pants and shoes staying in the fronteer, like in an indecision posture. Very good abstract.
28 Dec 2009 7:53pm
A very serious image, composed as a rock, blunt. I really love it!!
x.
28 Dec 2009 8:02pm
Serious image with a quite horrifying interpretation on my side. Love that song really.
28 Dec 2009 8:42pm
a very nice framing ,sharon ,a very wonderful shot !
kiss !
28 Dec 2009 9:28pm
Very philosophical and artistic shot with too much power and value of not only good photography but also of general art.
29 Dec 2009 12:30am
Something about the person's shoes and standing on a railroad track make me think of a change of track, change of career, or standing at a crossroads of making decisions. Beautiful shot, I like the meanings in it.
29 Dec 2009 12:42am
Nice lyrics to go with the image. I really like the composition here.. the facelessness.. the pose. The person really does seem to be thinking.
29 Dec 2009 1:33am
there's a story here and I want to know what it is. very nice.
29 Dec 2009 1:52am
such a well-dressed man standing on railroad tracks.
watching the train go by. i wonder if he will turn
and follow the tracks, or if he will turn around and go home.
29 Dec 2009 5:20am
extraordinary and lovely capture
its very interesting and remarkable
i love it...composition, framing, angle ... everything is perfect !!! bravo dear Sharon ;)
*Merry X-Mas and Happy New Year!*
29 Dec 2009 5:30am
great shot! i don't know where to begin, I really like the way the tracks move your eye through the frame, I really like the placement of the horizon and how everything just disappears into the fog. I like how the subject is at the edge of the frame, that creates visual tension within the composition, and the train and the way the subject is dressed gives me the atmosphere of england in the late 1800s :)
29 Dec 2009 7:43am
Great composition... And nice invitation, but not so easy.
29 Dec 2009 8:38am
just my favourite for today: this endless horizon - is it hope or is it fear?
Open end. Open mind.
29 Dec 2009 12:01pm
Powerful image. Somehow makes me want to jump out of the way of a possible incoming train. Love your point-of-view!!
29 Dec 2009 12:44pm
Love this framing. Great shot. And a song which calls back to me good souvenirs. I danced a lot of slows on it... :-))
29 Dec 2009 1:46pm
excellent pov and angle Sharon!!! :) happy holidays to you -- and best wishes for an awesome 2010!!! xxx
29 Dec 2009 2:40pm
I hope I do not see / read Ana Karenina story behind this shot :)))
29 Dec 2009 3:13pm
Fantastic scene - very powerful and very foreboding, I'd say.
29 Dec 2009 3:13pm
An eye-catching shot with the sharp tracks disappearing in the distance and the person standing where people don't usually stand! Fine image.
29 Dec 2009 4:15pm
very very nice shot , good composition & interesting in B&W
29 Dec 2009 4:20pm
very cunning shot, it's a true pleasure to visit your daily page
29 Dec 2009 5:24pm
Thought-provoking shot - the perspective in this photo is perfectly mirrored by the perspective of how a "switch" in life could change one's future. Bravo!
29 Dec 2009 7:14pm
like the foggy feeling and horizon...many tracks to choose from...one right decision...great photo!!
29 Dec 2009 11:04pm

31 Dec 2009 8:08pm
I like this profile shot better than the next one from the back. Perhaps I like the shoes or perhaps I like the more off-center composition.
Happy new year!
