Don't threaten me with love, baby.

The feeling of people moving through the weather is wonderfully conveyed here. I love the softness and blur !

Life becomes a blur in inclement weather ... Nicely expressed.

walking in the rain, just friends passing the time, superb mood here Sharon, your timing is everything, from the words, to the exposure time, to the composition. Your connection is everything.
14 Jan 2010 7:41am
Excellent composition. Nothing I can say other than I just love it.
14 Jan 2010 8:18am
I love his shivering figure, as if out of an expressionnist movie fro the Thirties due to his hat I guess, and he feels so lonely, far from the world apart, going his own way, maybe leaving discreetly. Great heavy blur rich with mood. Exile, dunno why but that's what comes in my mind... Have a superb thursday t°° ;)

Let's just go walking in the rain ... Billie Holiday is just right. Thanks for this great song & the even greater composition, Sharon. This beauty is all I need to get me through these cold Berlin days. Brilliant! All the best & safe travels, Fritsch.

love the softness and movement - beautiful
14 Jan 2010 11:04am
Really makes me think of Fritz Lang's movies you see. A great mysterious atmosphere comming out of your photograph.
14 Jan 2010 11:29am
The slow shutter speed has given up so much atmosphere here, an ortonesque feeling I get from this. Nice job!
14 Jan 2010 12:36pm
great rainy mood ! I love the blur vision ! a great compo and realisation Sharon !
14 Jan 2010 1:02pm
Nicely done Sharon! The blurred image gives one a sense of urgency to escape the rain soaked streets..... ;-)
14 Jan 2010 1:05pm
nice ghostly image! the guy looks so mysterious
14 Jan 2010 1:06pm
normally lovin your stuff but for me this is too much processed blur on what has the makings of an excellent photograph. I seem to be in the minority though (of one I think) which may say lots :)
14 Jan 2010 2:39pm
@Tommy: Thanks Tommy. Critique is always welcome as it helps to make me see things again, possibly re-think. I took this as it was getting dark, no tripod, walking home from work. It seemed to me to have not enough sharp/blur contrasts, so I softened the whole thing. Perhaps I'll have another look at it :)
What an enchanting nostalgia your capture is eliciting... Blur and softness in your hands have magically become a perfect element of appeal and evocation of imaginations... Beautiful and amazing work Sharon!!!

Seems like a detective or something! Love the mystery feel.
14 Jan 2010 4:45pm
Fabulous image Sharon ~ the words are a perfect match for the shot
14 Jan 2010 5:05pm
Is it raining in our eyes? The shadow with a hat is it real?
14 Jan 2010 6:24pm
An impressive street photo. A strong feeling of the early 20th century even though the architecture says later. The lack of vehicles seems signifigant.
14 Jan 2010 6:53pm
The Third Man rises again... in Vancouver? A picture Orson Wells himself would have liked. Great capture!
14 Jan 2010 7:18pm
Amazing - what a great effect! Mystic and outstandig. Seems to be taken in the 60's or so. Wow, I wish I would take this shot! :D
14 Jan 2010 10:24pm
Love the mystery man with his hat, coat, and briefcase. Cool processing.
14 Jan 2010 10:28pm
Wouaaah! Magnificent atmosphere in this image, contrast, composition, I like everything, bravo and good evening.
14 Jan 2010 10:29pm
Shadowy, dreamy capture with a ghostlike atmosphere. Very interesting and creative work!
14 Jan 2010 10:33pm
You know, this has a Tokyo look to it... a lot of people wearing thick clothing, walking very fast like a blur. Nice shot.
15 Jan 2010 12:58am
And to the future!! impressive shadow in black and rainy ambiance here, lots of light, and I don't think it's too much if you wanted to "focus" the man
15 Jan 2010 1:12am
you've framed this ghost of a figure really perfectly.. well done! :D
15 Jan 2010 1:29am
I like how the man is motion blurred. One expects him to be the main subject when in fact there's so much more to see here.
15 Jan 2010 1:48am
The hat the coat and the briefcase gives a sense of nostalgia it does have a feeling of older times.
15 Jan 2010 2:32am
except for the briefcase, this reminds me a little of those old depression-era photographs. but then, who knows, maybe the briefcase is empty, the man ha no job, and he leaves his wife at home every day pretending to go to work, while he actually sits in the park watching squirrels until it starts getting dark.
15 Jan 2010 2:34am
I think this is a timeslip.... he doesn't belong here. But a great shot :)
15 Jan 2010 4:06am
I really like that air of mystery in your photos, especially your black and white pictures. I like the grain and the blur especially in this one.
15 Jan 2010 5:28am
A beautiful movement in this cinematic rendition of an everyday stroll in the city. Very Film Noir.
Cheers Sharon.
15 Jan 2010 6:03am
wow!!! it looks like you caught an evil spirit on camera, and he's walking down the street singing 'tiiiiiiime, is on my side, yes it is'
15 Jan 2010 6:31am
The approach pressed, I imagine walking in the rain in the city ... nice photo!
15 Jan 2010 7:13am
yeah, this is a simple beuaty of a photo. very good composed with a huge story behind the scene.
15 Jan 2010 8:58am
A running ghost.
A fabulous image indeed! Well done.
15 Jan 2010 10:36am
Really like the grain and the mouvement in this shot!
15 Jan 2010 1:06pm
This has a wonderful sense of motion. Fine street photography.
15 Jan 2010 3:14pm
like a ghost that goes!

15 Jan 2010 5:13pm
This is an awesome image!! You've created a wonderful feel and mood to this scene!
16 Jan 2010 5:20am
cool shot ... like the man who is in the foreground makes the image so exciting for me
16 Jan 2010 8:43am
love the blur effect , a dynamic street shot !
have a great week end
16 Jan 2010 10:50am
Wonderful! Love the abstract blurr of a figure in the foreground. Mysterious!!
16 Jan 2010 10:34pm
For some reason I think of Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons- one of my fave kids programs. This is a gem of a shot, moody, sinister and with a heap of enigma thrown in for good measure.
17 Jan 2010 7:56am
I like the feel of this image, makes me think it was taken years ago with the grain, b/w and man's hat. Love the blur of the man.
17 Jan 2010 3:32pm
wow!!! This is a stunning photo. The blur is awesome. Love it!
17 Jan 2010 4:44pm
Fascinating how the blurred silhouette takes on more substance in the mind than a detailed outline . . but you are ace at this and know it well.
17 Jan 2010 6:12pm
this is a photograph so full of life! i love the swishing away of your subject. the quote? i could hear the jazz in my ear as i read it :)
18 Jan 2010 1:17am
There seems to be a great improvement in your photographs lately. You've posted some really really good shots!
18 Jan 2010 11:09pm
Wonderfully mysterious and nostalgic. Reminds me of those Depression-era city photos.
20 Jan 2010 4:48pm
like a vintage vision of the past -- for some reason i think of 'dick tracey'... ;) excellent blur of movement!
20 Jan 2010 5:13pm
wow. coincidence that it resembles my post from a few days back (moving man foreground, b&w). I love your excursions into non-landscapes....
22 Jan 2010 10:35am
very striking image. great motion shot and very mysterious and interersting subject. i can just see you waiting and selecting your shots. great job!
23 Jan 2010 6:30am
this is fabulous! especially the timing on this - as though a man with suitcase is walking directly into the future.
