Oh my, the quote is heart-wrenching...do I tend to be one of those who give away my wings?
I can not let that be. I, and we, must be like the eleven "fly-ers here who soar on their own wings.

wings like musical notes
printed on lined sheets
a pretty melody.

@Levi Cusio: Thank Levi! I'm sure you do, you were with me when I took this :)
Like writing music, superb rhythm and graphism, all flying in the same direction, solidarity of wings & hopes, i like that feeling and black on white poem !

Me gusta el juego de líneas y las siluetas de las palomas, lo natural frente a lo artificial. Excelente blanco y negro, aunque esto ya no es novedad ;-)
Cordiales saludos

A great geometric visual impact Sharon. And the flying birds add a nice touch of poetry !

GOR-GEOUS! GOR-GEOUS! (sang like a football chant).

It's not a picture, but a song !! A song of life and liberty !!:)
very very good !!
29 Jan 2010 12:25pm
beautiful... contrast, dynamics, symbolism... everything is there :)
29 Jan 2010 12:39pm
A super capture Sharon! As mentioned above it almost looks like a musical score. However, it also reminds me of the old news reels about the planes flying in formation during the war. Well seen and captured! ;-)

"We used to be free / Like birds over water / Small mysteries / Lost and forgotten" (Jesse Sykes & The Sweet Hereafter)
What an amazing composition & seeing experience. Leaving behind the ties that bind ... free at last or lost & forgotten. Great piece of art, Sharon! All the best & safe travels, Fritsch.

Fabulous shot & i have to agree looks as though they are composing a musical

Eric beat me to it..... instantly my mind wandered to the London Blitz as the Nazi bombers filled the skies and tried to break our resolve. My dad recalls it as though it were yesterday, and played in the streets with the unexploded bombs! A fabulous shot, and the light through those impressive wingspans is simply eqxuisite. What a view

Suddenly "I'll Fly Away, Oh Glory" is running through my head right now, Sharon. Actually, I think I was a bird in my past life. I used to fly in my dreams, bird height! :)
29 Jan 2010 3:03pm
Very nice capture! Love the two birds in tandem, bottom right.
29 Jan 2010 3:12pm
Wonderful image of power lines. I see birds flocking to them so often; even they have trees. I can't help but think they feel the current or something. (I'm over-thinking this:-)
29 Jan 2010 3:12pm
Neat lines. Love the perspective on the birds. Nice quote.
29 Jan 2010 3:47pm
Very original and really nicely done... I like the light thru some wings....
29 Jan 2010 5:11pm
Powerfull composition with those lines and birds and the contrast is playfull...birds going into the white light.
29 Jan 2010 5:23pm
The pale parts on the wings make them look as if light is shining through. Nice birds, nice effect against the pale sky.
29 Jan 2010 6:27pm
Wonderful perspective. Real sense of movement. Great image as usual. :)
29 Jan 2010 9:45pm
fascinating combination of lines and the birds.
29 Jan 2010 10:00pm
Great shot of the birds in motion, I like how they all have their wings spread and the power lines that intersect the image are a good reminder of the interplay between man and nature.

I love this--the birds almost seem to be plucking guitar strings...
30 Jan 2010 12:26am
like strings of a musical instrument.. this looks really nice.. well done.. :)
30 Jan 2010 2:51am
This is the perfect reminder to look up every now and then, Sharon. I like Seraphine's comment about the birds being musical notes and the lines being the sheet music. This does have a lyrical quality to it.

Only two in tandem. best...jerry

Your image, it's superb, it's like music, it's like a lonely yet beautiful dream.
30 Jan 2010 11:50am
Beautiful lines and birds. This couldn't be better.
30 Jan 2010 7:47pm
i love how all the birds are going in one direction and all the wires in one directions, i wonder what's pulling the birds :) beautiful picture!!!
31 Jan 2010 10:39am
Great composition, I like very much the sharp silhouettes of the birds crossing the lines :)
31 Jan 2010 10:48am
C'est une nouvelle partition ? Bon dimanche

31 Jan 2010 11:26am
Seraphine has stolen my immediate thoughts ... so I'll just suggest crossing the lines.
Good capture ... and of the moment I guess.
31 Jan 2010 11:34am
We would say a music partition ... Very beautiful and poetic ! Love the contrasts too ! Bravoooo
31 Jan 2010 6:46pm
Great catch and I love the lines of the wires throughout.
31 Jan 2010 7:24pm
Great composition, did you talk with birds, to arrangre them ?!
31 Jan 2010 10:27pm
Awesome, lines and life, geometry and decisive moment... your shot has something very urban that I love...
1 Feb 2010 3:50am
You never know what may happen when you photograph directly under birds like that. You're brave! Like the shot. Strong lines. Black, white...little in between. Very graphic.
1 Feb 2010 4:13am
Very symbolic ! The freedom of the bird will not be trapped in nets.
