Interestinfg photo, it goes so well to the words (or vice versa). The mood you got in it with the processing and the composition with "a inclined plane" really strengthens the message. Great!

And sometimes that faraway is that house next door but we would have visited the whole world before hitting the right place ;) Cool tilt and that pole echoing the man presence but the pole will stay still while the man will leave far away (and the pole will still be here when the man comes back and find the place showered by sun just for them both)... Cool story we can create from your image(s), Sharon*

Clever shot...the angle gives this image such interesting character
and the soft smeary black and white adds wonderfully to the effect. :-)

Your photos are always talking to me about myself :)

Great tension added by the tilt and a very inviting scene.

The tilt makes the mood deep. Far away... I think I understand what you mean.

You have created a wonderful sense of detachment in this shot Sharon! Like looking in from somewhere far away..... Bravo! ;-)

the angle makes this shot .... and that blurred focusing makes it quite mysterious!

"So far away from me
So far I just can't see
So far away from me
You're so far away from me"

A nice low perspective and cool presentation with the tilt. Excellent.

What I like here is the perspective combined with the soft light. Your technique makes me admire some of your captures - I like the feeling you give showing such scenes! Thanks for sharing ... .

I like the softness here - it has an almost infrared feeling but the foliage is all wrong for that.

A very fanciful and tense photo. A little unsettling, maybe because of the axis of the camera.

Really like the angle here Sharon. This creates beautiful lines, broken in fine style by the human presence on the left. Great!!

Great angle, and I like the soft focus.

The turn of the taking and that foggy effect intensify the enigmatic thing of the figure in first plane. Excellent composition.
Warm greetings

I like the strong urban landscape feeling in this . . a space with little compromise.

"Far, far away a train whistle blows / Wherever you’re goin’, wherever you’ve been / Waving good bye at the end of the day / You’re up and you’re over, and you’re far away" (Tom Waits)
Roaming around the city with you is such a pleasure, Sharon! Great frame & such a great composition! All the best & safe travels, Fritsch.

Your posting today really focused my attention about putting photographs in the public domain andwondering whether it enough to just have the image or whether to add some sort of commentary from the photographer as well. I have noticed from my own blog that it is very easy to influence the comments that people make by having some initial blurb added to the posting.
I understand that it allows the viewer into the the thinking of the photographer ... but I often think that as it is a photograph and is a visual stimuli that words are unnecessary. If an image has any potency then it will naturally draw out valid comments .
Putting words to the image will control people's thinking and comments and thus inevitably lead to a massaging of the photographer's ego. Wow ! ... I must make sure I put real thought into the words I put with my image ... or maybe I should let the photograph talk for itself and hopefully enjoy a more diverse and possibly honest set of responses both positive and negative.
Food for thought maybe.
By the way your down-loaded image created instant thoughts that were completely diverted when I read your title and blurb.
Oh and also by the way I have not picked on you specifically Sharon ... For some reason your image just focused my attention on the rather nebulous conundrum and thanks for that .

@Richard T: Thanks for your thoughts Richard...in all honestly, the words are for my own benefit, and part of my own expression. Song lyrics, quotes, poetry or otherwise help me to see things differently. People can either like what I do, or not like it...that is entirely up to them. Some people relate to the image with the words, or even the words on their own and the image is rubbish. It's just the way I do things... :)
Very nice perspective, make me turn my head to get things right =)
