Magnificent dark lines and diagonal rhythm. What a wonderful image of space and contrast and drama.

What a strange and beautiful mood this creates. Love the lines from the steps. You choosed a wonderful angle, making the image somewhat "restless" rather than with the more straight lines. Love it!

Excellent composition! Beautiful light and superb graphism!

Another great incrustation of human being in the stone of our cities... Lines are like a music sheet and he is the partition written on it, maybe ? ;) And I enjoy a lot that you quote my very fav woman photographer too... A cool thursday to waste freely ~ ~ ~

We have large cities yet people can be so isolated in them, the crookedness of the stairs and shading brings you in.

Great composition, I love the angle you chose and the darkness creates a lonely mood. Also an interesting title.

Great atmosphere you have created here Sharon! The shaft of light that partially illuminates the lone figure seems to say that through reading we will find the light! Well done! ;-)

Other great compo with beautiful lines. Really like the human figure in this dark light.

I like the sense of merged contrasts in this . . the figure sitting in the formality.

you've got an awesome eye for composition, the diagonal lines and shapes look great here, and the fact that you captured someone right smack in it makes it more great.. well done you! ;D
13 May 2010 11:12pm
this is great, the isolation, the contemplation, the light and the repeating pattern are all first class

Sitting, thinking, reading. My kind of triad. And your melancholic & bluesy imagery is just my kind of photography. So healing, so great, Sharon! All the best & safe travels, Fritsch.

I can hear my mother, "It's too dark to read, you will hurt your eyes". Very interesting steps with the sidewalk in the middle; I have never seen that before.

Nice scene here. I really like the framing.

17 May 2010 12:27am

A strange mode in this picture. I like the composition, the lines the stairs make and that little man in the middle.
21 May 2010 7:14am
The composition leaves a place important for the imagination.
Get lost in the lines of the environment and meet in the lines of a book.
21 May 2010 8:47am
Une composition remarquable surtout par le jeu d'ombres et de lumières qui semblent partir du personnage.
Amicalement

I like this shot a lot. Maybe slightly dark but I actually think that gives it the mood that it exudes. Great work!
