Very intimate! Seems he is loyal to you! This is a supber quality of b/w presenting the relationship between human and animal! The reflection in your glasses is interesting and a little bit mysterious! 5*!

@flyingwind风飞扬: Thank you :) He's actually not my dog, but we do spend a lot of time together. We were hanging out in the car while his 'master' did a quick run into a store. It was the perfect time to get the camera out and see about getting a few shots.
What an amazing image! That intense and somewhat sorrowful look in his eyes and you looking on so lovingly:-) Made me smile:-)

A beautiful black and white...it is smooth and clean and makes me smile...
you look charming and the dog looks intent and very sweet.
I don't know how you managed to shoot an image of yourself and friend at that angle---
but so glad you did. It is heart-warming !!

@Dulcie: Thanks so much :) It was easy to shoot with my Canon point and shoot (swivel back), but the most difficult part was to get the dog to sit still for more than 3 seconds :)
looks like a fabulous and trustworthy dog! I like the contrast of your smile and his/her sad look! very nice photo!

For me dog's expression says - you could do all kind of things even take pictures of me but I'll take care of you, don't worry! Nice shot! Emotional!
8-)

I definitely agree with John ! :-)))) Look at his fixed, concentrated stare. He is looking at you too (in the sense, paying attention). You're a VIP to him Sharon.
Love your smile. :-)

14 Jun 2010 7:29am
Ah, just love to look at you in the eyes, my dear Sharon, and this "self-portrait with my dog" is touching and superb !
I feel some deep family link in his eye & your smile... as a One-face-for-two meeting at the corner of tender nose & mouth streets !
Have a superb week, both of you, guyz*

(i read above it's not your dog but i don't move a single word of my comment, there is a deep family link between those 2 sweet ones ! ;)

That so likeable and pleasant, full photo of good feeling. The black and white one is admirable.
Warm greetings

Look at this loyal and tender look, like saying "you're my master, my friend and I'll follow you wherever you go!"
Awesome portrait!

Brave lady with such a noted vicious animal
14 Jun 2010 9:16am
Yes, I see the look of concern in his eyes - "where is my master going?". Trying to stare through the walls of the store.

So sweet! I love the look in dogs eyes, and I love your self portrait with this beautiful one. We have four of them at home. They all think we're nuts.

You named your dog Sonny Rollins, how sweet is that. I have had cats named Marley (after Bob), Mingus, and Ra (Sun RA).
Nice portrait and I would have to agree with Mr Steinbeck's quote.

jesus... Sonny Rollins the Dog... I couldn't help but smile. :-) Wonder how he would react, learning that people name dogs after him. :-) The funny thing is that old seasoned jazz musicians aften called "cats". :-)
I saw Sonny Rollings a couple of years ago here in Atlanta. One of the last giants of jazz. The Saxophone Colossus is 80, but blows his horn as if there is no tomorrow.
A very thoughtful self-portrait, Ms. Chameleon.

Excellent portrait!! The dog knows his master is gone from the car and the look in his eyes is the same my dog gets when I leave her with my husband to go into the store. She just stares straight ahead...watching.
They are so funny and we are so nuts! Love his name.

Super shot of you two, gives me a sense of a real close bond between you
14 Jun 2010 6:35pm
Terrific! And I like the reflections.
14 Jun 2010 6:58pm
Haha, that's a good quote. Never thought about how dogs perceive humans. I guess my dog sees me as a nut. Fantastic portrait.
14 Jun 2010 7:19pm
That's a cute image--the dog is trying to avoid the human distractions and keep his eyes on the road. ;-)
14 Jun 2010 7:31pm
Basically, dogs are right! You two make a fine looking couple. ;-)
14 Jun 2010 8:05pm

very nice shot of you two. the doggie seems to be a bit sad, maybe you cheered the dog up!
15 Jun 2010 5:37am
@Liang: Thanks Liang. Naw, that's just his smooshy face, but he had eyes glued out the window, waiting for his master to come back from the store :)
One eye of each for a same look....................Excellent one,Sharon....
15 Jun 2010 6:35am
What a brilliant picture. Your smile and his a little sad and serious look makes a great contrast, and allthough some sort of harmony.
PS I don´t think for a second that he thinks that you´re a nut, Steinbeck must be wrong :-).
15 Jun 2010 1:16pm
Nice to see you! The angle is perfect...The look of the dog intense...as a mateer of jazz indeed (I love Sonny too).
