Parting day dies like the dolphin
whom each pang imbues
With a new colour as it gasps away
The last still loveliest
till--'tis gone--and all is grey

Very cool capture. The mysterious woman. Her flowing dress trailing behind. Silhouetted. Beautiful drama.

So wonderfully heavy with drama and dark history . . I do, though, itch to pull down the bottom left corner to bring the grass/bench-lines to horizontal and remove a dust spot in her line of sight. I say that only because the image itself is so superb and I have stared at it for so long !

@Ronnie 2¢: Ah! Thanks Ronnie...I should have had a closer look :)
Composition très interessante, beaucoup de force dans cette avancée décidée et de mystère dans cette robe religieuse ou pas. Le vignettage du ciel focalise bien l'attention. Bravo

Oh how i love this image, my dear Sharon... How subtle & SOULFUL... I always enjoy so much your very special monochrome, a deep & sweet grey with some lavender tone below (or at least that's what my screen offers), like an inner fog, from deep within... And the striped light through the bench, her both sweet & elegant pace, her attitude & crossed arms, the details of the scarf and the edge of the glasses in the glorious backlight, another one of my Bluecham' top list... Like a Samothrace statue still with her head on her shoulders, just before she spreads her wings wide... Your winged victory for sure.
Thanks for the beauty, and have a beautiful week ~

@k@: Thanks so much Karine. I was really hoping she would open up her arms and her skirts and coat would catch the wind. She did later on, but I had a small area only to get a clear shot without getting clutter in the background. It's was basically a split second and the opportunity was gone.
A very creative image, love the silhouette, hop i am not being picky but there is a distracting dust spot in the middle, otherwise superb

@P J W Miller: Thank you for your eagle eye, it's appreciated :) I was editing on a different computer, and during the daylight, so I missed it.
This picture of yours gives many associations to film history and old photographers like film noire, Greta Garbo, Man Ray and many others. But anyway it´s definitely your picture and your very special style and way of photographing. I like this one very much, one of your best!

that long dress she has on makes her look very royal & sinister at the same time.. great catch.. :)

She has something... of... Versailles... Like some Marie-Antoinette silhouette trying to escape from her annoying castle... or meeting her lover in the garden at night...
I must have too much imagination Sharon... but that the side-effects of your photographs (and it's a sincere compliment, believe me... - I know you do -).
:-)))

A ghost from the late 1800s, I think. Maybe she's waiting for her seafaring husband to return. Spooky stuff!

nice silhouette, so mysterious yet emotionally touching!

I simply love the atmosphere here. Superb lighting, tones and silhouettes - eveything work so well together. My first thought was: Vampires and Werewolves... until I read the lovely words.
I like here bodylanguage ( crossed arms )... as if she's protecting herself...
You have captured this moment beautifully. Bravo!

A delight to be able to see her again... And, see ? Each one sees different things but all fabulous, from Garbo to Versailles famous character to Samothrace victory - the sign of a powerful & deep image. Have a sweet tuesday, dear.
(today, with a second sight, i see better the glow behind her, as if she was passing by a grey giant moon... Infinite readings here, endless ones).

@k@: Thanks so much again Karine, your words mean a lot to me. You too...have a great Tuesday :)
I love the folded arms and of course the dark processing.

You deserve an Extra Comment for making those tiny adjustments !
Reading all these lovely observations Visitors have left here makes me wonder what image we would each see in our mind's eye if we read the Comments before opening the picture ! Interesting thought.
