Gorgeous shot. I love the darkness and the vignette. The pattern in the fence is amazing. The church is perfect, so white in the darkness.

Love the cozy white church surrounded by the lovely black contrast. I'm always charmed and happy to know that there are still some of these lovely old-fashioned wood-framed churches in existence !

Reminds me of all the little churches I have stumbled upon like this myself . . love how unpretentious and worn it is and one cannot help but start thinking of the role it has played in so many local lives . . photography it its best.

@Ronnie 2¢: Thanks so much Ronnie. It's rare that I get out of the city, so to have the opportunity to see things like this in country settings was pretty exciting for me. I felt as if I had taken a step back in time :)
Beautifully framed and composed Sharon! Bravo! ;-)

What an amazing little church. My favorite part is the fence with the little diamond designs...such a step back into the past.

Une petite église qui me fait penser à celle de Tadoussac et à d'autres petites églises de bois de ton beau pays

With the force and ability to paint in black and white, this church takes very different connotations. Extraordinary.
Warm greetings

This image evokes to me the personal Faith everybody does feel - not obligatory in religion but maybe in Nature or in Love or..... And i see kids like sparrows running around & singing... maybe while a grandma is having her last mass given indoors... An image that offers stories at once. Love it.
Have a very nice day, dear*

A fabulous image of 'hope' within the gloomy darkness that seems to be closing in...The vignette works wonderfully...great words and work!!

I like that carefully decorated fence. It says that what lies inside is special.

"I remember Christmas in the blistering cold / In a church on the upper west side / Babe, I stood their singing, I was holding your arm / You were holding my trust like a child" (Ryan Adams)
What an amazing point of view. What a brilliant frame. Your compositions always have the ability to pull me in immediately & not let me go. Great photograph, Sharon! All the best & safe travels, Fritsch.
