I like the effect of coming in from the dark! Excellent choice of focus!

Of course they know. Better and deeper than we think. But it's true we are so pretentious thinking we are the only race to be clever.
Wonder shot Sharon with this focus on his nose, so important for dogs all around the world. :-)

Great shot full of personality and a great quote to boot!

I think that you succeeded to show the dogs personality. Very nice.

Wonderful shot with great focus! He/she looks like a great companion. Pit Bulls have gotten such an underserved bad reputation.

@Steve: Thanks Steve...he's a big goof that would lick you to death :)
Well, I really like this close up! ...but I like also the b/w in gallery!
Great!
My compliments and regards!

My daughter, who also has a pit bull, would share that thought. She adores her dog.
This shot is so lovely and sympathetic, who could fault them. Super !

@DULCIE: :) Seriously, one of the best breeds, so loyal and loving.
Beautifully done this DOF fot playing with the portrait! The F1.8 gives this short focus very well :)

The DOF and the soft brown colors of the background, that goes so well with the colors of the dog, makes this to a fantastic portrait.

Aún me sorprendes más cuando fotografías en color. Genial
Un cordial saludo

Even if the only spot in focus is the nose, I would say that this dog has very calm eyes so I think he/she is as nice as you say.

A wonderful portrait of that nose! The rest of him looks great, too. I love that focus and depth.

@Steve Rice: Hee hee...that is exactly what I wanted. Thanks Steve :)
Great shot. He looks very content here.

Oh this is brilliant, Sharon ! The focus & softness illustrates so much the quote too. Beautiful are the tones, and the eye-contact so deep, it's a portrait in the painterly classic beautiful way, could be a painting by the Great Masters at the Louvre museum. Bravo, along with the quote, it's superbly powerful & muscled !

@k@: Wow...thanks so much for your words Karine. I will be sure to let Sonny know. He will be thrilled of course :)

The dog’s nose seems to pop out of my screen! Awesome shot of her stare.
