Into each life some rain must fall
Some days must be dark and dreary...

Oh, I love the forms of these umbrellas caught in black and white. I very much enjoy the center weighting with all the space surrounding. It seems to me a serious almost funereal shot...very calm and grounded.

@DULCIE: Thank you. Actually, this was a wedding. It was pouring down rain, the hardest I've seen in awhile and one of these men was photographing a bride and groom in a park. It was quite the ordeal, but made a great photo op for me :)
Beautifully captured; I love the way the umbrellas line up

One of those beautiful studies that says so much from so little . . a true moment.

The though-provoking quote and the moody image are paired perfectly.

We have the same now - sunny days are over and it's raining.
Nice job!

When opening, my first reaction was "fantastic!"
I see Maria already wrote it!
It's a great great picture, in the composition, the light, the treatment and the fact it's opened to a lot of readings....
Have a good sunday!

The washed out surroundings are perfect for this image. Very austere and effective.

What does the overlap mean ? It is interesting to think the meaning.

@Hiro: What they were doing is huddling together because the person up front was taking photographs of a bride and groom in the rain, during a wedding photography session.
very simple, yet beautifully composed. to get something so great out of such a common situation takes great skill.

Endless rain!! What a wonderful expression and capture of it!!!

That clean gray background of fog and the great lighting make this look like a studio setup. You've made something quite beautiful of this rain we keep getting.

A double wing for a twin couple - oh just read your answer to Dulcie, a twin couple indeed, in the hidden frame, super opportunity for you photographer, and as we say in France "Mariage pluvieux, mariage heureux" (rainy marriage, happy marriage ;) Love the elegance of your image. Have a superb week (with sun, hopefully).

The black umbrellas against a grey wall of fog makes an excellent composition in your beautiful capture.
It´s so fantastic and I love it, Sharon. One of the best photos here on Am3 for a long time. Seeing a picture like this doesn´t make my day dark and dreary though, but that´s maybe something typical for us photographers. Thank´s for this one!

Cool explanation of the shot thanks to Hiro. GReat quote and an appropriate quote considering its a bridal shot.

But after every rain there will be sun. Sharon, that's a brilliant frame. Sad & hopeful at the same time. Minimal & so full of stories at the same time. Can't help but love it!
All the best & safe travels,
Fritsch.
