Aww... i can relate to this and you know why as i know why you............ Blue eyes pic (i feel the shape of an eye with your vignetting) for this lonely gull but i can see she's over/above the prison-like patters of bars, isn't she ? With time, i'm sure of that, we can achieve to rise up step by step, not forgetting anything, integrating it in our self, but freeing ourselves a little maybe & hopefully from that useless guilt & sadness or Blues (love your special blue note here)... Now i try to feel deeply this other quote i offer to you : "I restore myself when i'm alone" (even if it's Marilyn M who's speaking....). Next step ? This seagull might take off and breathe peacefully again soon. Kiss-kiss, Sis*

I smile with bitter-sweet tenderness to Rian's words. Yup, we just ask ourselves this....... ***

His mates have probably all flown off in search of some sun - hard to find this year!
Nice capture, and I like the vignette.

It is serene despite of the lonely presence of a bird that could vanish in a whisper. Contemplative Blues.
Cheers.

This is a beautiful image, with that blue tinge and the vignette going so well thematically. Great quote, too.

Beautiful image. The vignette feels a little "heavy" to me, but still very arresting.

Having such wonderful pictures like this to look on, there is less reason to feel lonely. A good friendship can be to have other photographers captures to like and to lose oneself in.

Even the colors of Life can take on a shade of blue melancholy when loneliness strikes . . we can all connect with this.

Superb! For a reissue of "Kind of Blue" (Miles Davis)?

You have great eye for the unusual in the common!
Love the vintage look and the interesting vignetting.

Fabulously seen, composed and perfectly rendered! The vastness, the emptiness, the blue, the melancholy, the loneliness... a scene that easily gets one down but could also help one to be strong! Thanks for such emotive and soul-stirring image, Sharon!

Nice game of lines, and the blue cold tone add to the mood of the picture !
Kind regards

The simple lines, cool tones and subtle vignetting contribute greatly to the lonely moodiness.

This looks like a good gathering spot so, it wont be lonely for long. I like those colors and textures.

A beautiful image, in this delicate monochrome graphics. Calm before the break with momentum.

vraiment très bien vue, cette composition minimaliste.

The blue mood fits the subject perfectly (what is that I imagine hearing, a little Miles Davis in the background?). The fence line adds a nice optical illusion with the sea behind. What a fantastic find :^)

There is a difference in solitude and isolation--and this photo feels like the latter. It's a great mood shot and I don't think you could have done any better job of making your point.
